TOURNAMENT INFORMATION FROM THE SHOW HOST: 1) Spectator Parking Parking for spectators is in the parking lot directly south of the stadium off of Pacific Avenue. If that parking lot becomes full then spectators may park on Pacific Avenue. 2) Spectator Admission General admission is $10.00. Children under 5 are free. Seating is on a first come-first served basis. Gates to the stadium for admission will open 90 minutes prior to the first performance. 3) Participant Admission Student Participants will be hand-stamped when their busses arrive in the parking lot. Instructors and parent chaperones will receive wrist bands at check in. 4) Arrival and Times After you arrive and park your vehicles, there will be a student guide to assist you with anything you might need. It is up to you if you wish to use them. It is also up to you to best gauge your arrival, time needed to unload, dress, warm-up, and all of the preparation before performance time.
5) Parking for Buses, Trucks, and Staff Parking is in the campus parking lots directly south of Rubidoux High School. Please have your bus/truck drivers approach the campus parking lots from Opal via Mission Blvd. Patriot Band boosters will direct all parking in the lot. Only competing units buses, equipment vehicles, and 2 staff vehicles will be allowed in this area. 6) Restrooms- Will be available in the stands directly south of the stadium. Several restrooms are available for performers and staff on campus. 7) Warm-Up Areas Color guards and drill teams may use various open areas of the campus Full band warm-up and percussion warm-up are to be done on the main campus away from the stadium. The areas directly behind the stadium (baseball fields, basketball courts, and tennis courts) are not to be used for band or percussion warm-up. Also, please try not to have your brass or battery play in the parking area as sound carries quite easily to the stadium from the parking lot. Keep your brass instruments pointed away from the stadium. Please be respectful of other groups who are also warming up and preparing for competition, the larger and louder the group the more distance you may want to distance yourself away from the stadium. ***Any unit which interferes with a competing unit during their performance, may be given a full 1.0 penalty off of the band judges sheet. This penalty may be given after the first warning and for each subsequent warning. 8) Pit Percussion Please bring your pit equipment to the south/east stadium gate 15-20 minutes prior to your band s performance time (the gate between the snack bars). Here you will be given instructions as to when to move through the gate (units are exiting through the same gate). FINAL INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE GIVEN AT THE GATE TO YOUR PIT CREW. 9) Electrical Power We will provide 110 volt power for your equipment on the front sidelines. It will be located on the power box near the 50 between the track and field. I suggest that you have a back-up source of battery power available just in case the power source blows a fuse. The final responsibility of providing electrical power for amplified equipment rests on the shoulders of the competitor. 10) Staging Area The final staging area is a silent area. No percussion playing (including rims or even a click ) is allowed while marching to the final staging area. Be ready to move onto the field at the appointed time. 11) Establishing Formation on the Field There will be a total of 3 minutes minimum for field set-up. The tournament announcer will give you a 3-minute and a 1-minute warning. Announcements and/or introductions may not begin until after the 1 minute warning is given. (SCSBOA Rule) 12) Exiting the Field and Stadium Upon completion of your show, exit to the front sidelines, have your unit make a left turn, and follow the track around to the south gate for exit from the stadium (the same gate you entered in). You must exit to a rim tap only with no playing on the drumheads as to not disturb the unit following you. We encourage all groups to return all instruments and equipment to the bus/truck area prior to entering the visitor stands after performing, exept if you are one of the final group and do not have time to. 13) Band Seating All performers are to sit in the same area of the bleachers. Since this is a smaller show, bands may sit on either the visitor side OR home side (if there is room of course). Please remind your students that they are to be courteous during other groups performances and remind your band parents that they are to wait until a group is done performing before they enter the stands. 14) Announcer If you have not already sent a copy of your pre and post announcement form or would like to give our announcer a more updated version, please make sure you bring it to the press box at least fifteen minutes before your group is to perform. 15) Awards Ceremony Please send your leaders to the 50-yard line immediately following the last performance. 16) Food There will be all sorts of snack, dinner, and beverage items available at the snack booth area located near the spectator entrance. No coolers or ice chests may be brought into the stadium. This is our main fundraiser for the Fall season, and we do hope that you will ask your students and boosters to support our food concessions. If you would like our snack bar available before the 4:00 gate opening time please feel free to let me know and we will have our food concessions available for you and your students. 19) The Jurupa Unified School District does not permit cooking on campus or in the parking lots. Remember That Federal Law States That Smoking is Not Permitted on School District Facilities
