External Grants National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Grant, 2010 and 2014. This grant established a Summer REU Program in Mathematics and Computational Science at Fairfield University. The first award (2010, in the amount of $296,569) funded a three-summer duration whose first summer program took place in 2011. The second award (2014, in the amount of $260,000) funded a second three-summer duration whose first summer program took place in 2014. I served as the Principal Investigator for the grant, the Program Director, and in Summers 2011 and 2015 I led research groups of three students in 3-dimensional hyperbolic geometry and topology. National Science Foundation VIGRE Fellowship, University of Illinois at Chicago, 2001-2004 Internal Grants Humanities Institute of the College of Arts and Sciences Grant, Fairfield University, 2010 and 2013. I was Co-Principal Investigator for these two grants, to bring the theater group Know Theatre (of Cincinnati) to Fairfield University for a musical performance Calculus: The Musical! in April 2011 and April 2014 at the Fairfield University Quick Center for Performing Arts. Sciences Institute of the College of Arts and Sciences Grant, Fairfield University, 2009. I was the principal investigator for this grant, which brought the mathematician and MacArthur Fel-low Jeffrey Weeks for a general audiences lecture at the Fairfield University Quick Center for the Performing Arts in October 2009. This event was attended by more than 600 students and members of the Fairfield community.
