The Vocational Education and Training Partnership Programme (BBP) The Vocational Training Partnership Programme (BBP) of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) has been implemented by the non-profit agency sequa. The German project partner is in charge of the project management. Partnership projects are characterised by: - mobilising know-how of the German partner for development - promoting the cooperation of civil society actors - building on private sector initiatives June 2018 Page 3

Main areas of cooperation Improving the organisational structure of vocational training institutions Improvement of training content and methods Introduction of practice-oriented pilot training in new professional fields Advising partner institutions on the development of qualification and auditing standards June 2018 Page 4

Dual Training in Germany Training is mainly provided in the company supported by teaching in parttime vocational school (Berufsschule) Company 3-4 days per week on the basis of training regulations within the framework of a training contract Vocational school 1-2 days per week on average on the basis of a framework curriculum general & vocational knowledge is taught within the framework of compulsory education June 2018 Page 5

German-Nigerian Dual Vocational Partnership Objective Chambers and associations at selected locations in Nigeria have introduced dual training courses adapted to Nigerian conditions in selected occupations, stimulating their dissemination and contributing to better framework conditions. The Head of Delegation and his team strongly supported the project from the beginning.
