What s Happening at CSC: The CYAS department hosted their third BLAST event at CSC on Saturday, January 6 th. Five clients and their parents participated in the two-hour event themed Snow Excited for 2018! Tweens and their parents participated in winter related ice-breakers, relay games and Minute-to- Win- It type games. Inspired by an article in Future Reflections, where the president of the National Federation of the Blind talked with children with visual impairments, the BLAST tweens discussed the meaning of the word potential and shared ways that they could build or grow their own potential. Clients and their parents were encouraged to continue to have ongoing discussions about potential throughout the New Year. Games were followed by a delicious lunch of subs, chicken & rice soup, and a hot cocoa bar! The event ended with some group photos and families received a 2017 reflection activity to take home. Mark your calendars for the next event scheduled for Saturday, February 24 th at the toboggan chutes located in the Mill Stream Run Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks in Strongsville. Contact Kristen Callahan (x8774) for more information. When volunteers record their hours using the Volgistics portal your department can: -Capture the impact volunteers make on clients and programs. -Illustrate the difference volunteers make when applying for grants or pursuing funding. -Reflect volunteer impact back to volunteers to thank them for their work and encourage them to continue making a difference. -Use reports to attract new volunteer talent. Volunteer hours should be recorded from October 2016 - present day. Volunteers who need assistance learning to record can sign up for assistance here or can contact CSC Volunteer Services at 216-658- 4581 or mbresnahan@clevelandsightcenter.org. Currently CSC

is looking for Customer Service Representatives and Data Entry Specialists. Refer candidates who meet the job qualifications to our HR department using the Employee Referral Form located on the intranet under Human Resources Documents. If your candidate is hired, you will be awarded $100.00 upon hire and $100 after the referral successfully completes their 90 day performance evaluation!
