Any country that accepts abortion is the poorest of the poor. - St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta

a blight... In 1973, our country embarked on a path that has resulted in the heartache of the loss of tens of millions of lives and has impacted countless numbers of men and women with shame, regret and loss. In response to this dark shadow, millions of Christ s followers have responded with a message of compassion to rescue those being led away to death. Across America, in the last 45 years, thousands of pro-life clinics have sprung up to stand in opposition to the forces of abortion. By offering practical assistance and serving as witnesses to the gospel message, these clinics have spared the lives of thousands of children. However, much work still remains. Our government has significantly engaged in the abortion industry, funding Planned Parenthood, the US abortion leader, with an annual budget of more than $500 million. This largesse has allowed Planned Parenthood to build numerous megacenters, including a 22,000 square foot complex in Aurora, Illinois the third largest abortion facility in the nation. At this facility alone, an estimated 350 to 400 abortions are performed each month. a beacon of hope... Through God s providence and the faithfulness of a small army of volunteers, a thriving, local pro-life clinic has acquired the 2.5 acre vacant lot directly next to Planned Parenthood, Aurora. Waterleaf s Board is committed to building a first-class facility to expand its lifesaving work a beacon of hope in the shadow of darkness.

Waterleaf s mission is to be the chosen destination for women facing an unplanned pregnancy, transforming their fear into confidence, by addressing their physical, spiritual and emotional needs, and equipping them to make healthy life-affirming decisions.

Waterleaf Since 2009, Waterleaf has served more than 3,000 patients from 182 cities in 10 states. Our proximity to the third largest abortion provider in the country has enabled us to reach the most abortion-determined and abortion-vulnerable men and women with our life-affirming messages and services. our expertise... the patients... Our trained and licensed medical team of 2 doctors, 7 nurses and 3 sonographers average more than 30 years of medical experience, while our team of Client Advocates and Resource Associates provide compassionate support. Through the generosity of our donors and by the grace of God, we have celebrated the birth of 914 babies and counting! Our patients are economically, socially, and ethnically diverse, but they share a common need to find a safe-haven where they can obtain a clear understanding of their options without pressure. Maggie came to Waterleaf with her boyfriend seeking to terminate her pregnancy. She was convinced a baby would ruin her chances to complete her degree. Her family was not supportive, in fact, they were pushing her to abort. One of our nurses gave her a pregnancy test, while her Client Advocate spoke to her compassionately and truthfully about her options. Still uncertain about what to do, our sonographer gave her a clear picture of the life inside of her through an ultrasound. Maggie decided to make the brave choice to give life to her baby. But there were still obstacles. With no family support, we enrolled Maggie in our Mom 2 Mom mentor program. Her mentors took her to doctor appointments, provided moral support, and even gave her a baby shower while her Resource Associate worked on housing, schooling, and employment opportunities. In August, Maggie gave birth to Baby Alex. She recently contacted us I just wanted to let you guys know what an amazing impact you all had on me in those first few months of my pregnancy, you gave me confidence that I could raise my child successfully and still succeed at my life goals. Now I have an amazing baby whom has absolutely made my life so much better Maggie is just one example of the many women we have been blessed to save from a lifetime of regret.

the need... The increased demand for our services, most importantly, the 40% increase in ultrasounds performed in 2018 alone, has accelerated our need to expand. Through the benevolence of a landowner, Waterleaf purchased a 2.5 acre plot of land directly next to the Planned Parenthood center in Aurora - the largest abortion provider in the Midwest - with an estimated 350 to 400 abortions performed at that center each month. Waterleaf has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a Beacon of Hope a larger center strategically located to be a light in the darkness for women seeking love and support. Patients served

the budget... $2,950,000 for nearly 6,000 square feet of space featuring: 4 patient counseling/exam rooms, 2 ultrasound rooms, medical lab and nurse area 5 staff/volunteer offices, conference room, kitchen, and business development office Separate patient resource center with 2 consulting rooms to assist patients in finding solutions to practical challenges such as housing, employment, and other life challenges On-site chapel with 350 square feet of worship space designed to accommodate Mass and Eucharistic Adoration as well as non-denominational prayer services With this facility we will be able to serve the 900+ patients we assist each year PLUS have the opportunity to: Intercept 350 to 400 patients with scheduled abortions at Planned Parenthood each month to provide them with information about their options so that they can make an informed decision Facilitate simultaneous appointments by providing space for 2 patient teams, potentially doubling patients seen each year Save more lives! This is your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a tangible and visible way, to spare men and women from a lifetime of regret, and to save the lives of their precious, unborn babies.
