The meeting was opened on September 8th, 2018 at 0930 hrs with the standard opening by Commander Barry Ellis The minutes, having been distributed before the meeting via email sent to each Delaware County Legion Post. Motion to Approve by 1st Vice Commander Milton Scherer, Seconded by Chaplain Robert Stanczyk. Approved by committee. Treasurer Report: Delhi Roy Scrimshaw says that his post overpaid for Boys State and is looking for reimbursement for the County. Treasurer David Peake reports they are working out the details on this matter. Treasurer David Peake also reports the following fund numbers. Savings Account: $6327.29 Checking Account: $2534.11 Save-A-Vet Account: $ 497.82 Total of all Assets: $8861.40 Motion to Approve by 1st Vice Commander Milton Scherer, Seconded by Chaplain Robert Stanczyk. Approved by committee and subject to audit. Guests: None COMMITTEE REPORTS: Americanism: Chairman Michael Frisbee reports that Veterans Day is coming up, if you have anything going on please let us know and we will put it out through our channels. Commander Leonard Rutherford Jr reports that from September to June the Ladies Auxiliary holds a dinner the 1st friday of the month from 5 pm to 630 pm. Proceeds are for care packages for soldiers deployed overseas. Commander Leonard Rutherford Jr reports that the Walton Reporter will be having a special edition for Veterdays and his father will be the feature story. Baseball: NR Boy Scouts: NR Boys State: Chairwoman Patricia Svoboda reports that 10 boys attended, and urges Post s to vet their Boys State youth so that there isn t a risk of a no show like this year. Chairwoman Patricia Svoboda like to get the dates out to the Schools for next years Boys State.

Children & Youth: NR Color Guard: Chairwoman Patricia Svoboda reports the Delaware County Fair Parade was canceled this year due to weather. Compliance: NR Constitution & Bylaws: NR Department Convention Housing: NR Department Visitation: Treasurer David Peake reports that he has some members that have responded to the Dinner, also added some names to the list at this meeting. October 30th, 2018 at the Charles L. Jacobi Post in Sidney. 1700 hrs for Hors D'oeuvres, and 1800 hrs for dinner. County Commander has sent out letter of invite to each post. Most Commanders in attendance says that they received them. Also sent out to each County Auxiliary. There are no plans for the day yet, Lunch, Wreath at Memorial Park, and Dinner. National Security: No Committee Chairperson Nation Cmdr Dinner: County Commander Barry Ellis reports the dinner is October 21, 2018 at Binghamton Post 180 4 PM Hors Dourves start, the Cost is $25.00 and tickets will be sent to County Commander Barry Ellis. Oratorical: County Commander Barry Ellis reports that he spoke with all the Boys State and Girls State kids at the School Masters Dinner and they all took a packet for the Oratorical. POW MIA: Chairman Charles Piper emailed a list to all posts, see attached. Scholarship: NR Sick Call, Relief & Employment: Send a card to Gene Mills. Vicki Noble will give the Adjutant Michael Frisbee a name of someone that is ill and he will pass it along to Chaplain Robert Stanczyk. Service Officer: Chairman Charles Piper email all Post s with his report. See Attachment Sons of The American Legion: NR Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation: Chairman Charles Piper email all Post s with his report. See Attachment Unfinished Business: 15 coins left, thanks to Commander Leonard Rutherford for selling coins at the Delaware County Fair, It was decided to order more coins 100 with the option to get more if Adjutant Michael Frisbee finds that we should to order more. 2nd Vice Patricia Svoboda made a motion for 100 but at discretion of Adjutant Michael Frisbee after Commander Barry Ellis talks with Auxiliary. Motion was seconded by Chaplain Robert Stanczyk and approved by all. We will have shirt and pin designs and pricing for the next meeting. Commander Leonard Rutherford is offering to sell the coins on the weekend of Veterans Day. New Business & Correspondence: 3 Thank you cards were filed with the minutes and not attached to this. Good of the Legion: Grave Marker information was asked to be sent out to all Posts again. Commander James Omahen suggested that we put out for contract on all flags for graves as Broome County does. Would be interested in doing it with Delaware County if others are interested. Commander Barry Ellis says that Cathy Mullenix was really happy that we had a combined County Convention, he spoke to many members from both Auxiliary and Legion having the combined Convention. Commander Barry Ellis is in favor of having this joined, some discussion was had that this was the custom in years in pass. Motion was made by 2nd Vice Commander Patricia Svoboda, 2nd by Gene Mills and it was approved for May 18th, 2019 Raffle Drawing Winners: Chairman Barry Ellis reports that we will be delaying the drawing till November since all Posts have not turned in their numbers.
