Officer travel to SPIE Optics & Photonics 2015 Date: 2015.08.08-2015.08.15 Traveler: Zhiqiang Liu As our chapter s Secretary, Zhiqiang Liu applied the travel grant to SPIE Optics & Photonics 2015 at San Diego. He attended the SPIE student chapter leadership workshop on Aug where he met many other chapter officers. He learned many team leader and team work skills. He visited the SPIE exhibitions and joined the conference discuss. Also he joined the outreach activity.

Date: 2015.10.29 Attender: All members of Xidian Univ. Chapter We hold a series of fun games to welcome our chapter members. First the last chapter Xianyun made a speech about theme, and made the picture exhibition of international year of light. All members are divided into four groups. Each group need to know and selected one of the light developments and need to finish a series of team

International invited academic report Date: 2015.12.05 Reporter: Bormin Huang Title: High Performance Computing in Geoscience and Remote Sensing Bormin Huang received the M.S.E. degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1992, and the PhD. in the area of satellite remote sensing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1998. He is currently a research scientist and principal investigator at the Space Science and Engineering Center, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he advises and supports both national and international M.S. and PhD. Students and visiting scientists. Dr. Huang has reported about High Performance Computing in Geoscience and Remote Sensing.
