Just want to thank you guys again for outstanding job you did yesterday. You looked sharp and performed with professionalism as always as an impressive Honor Guard. Also want to thank Chris and Mike for great weapons demonstration and Chris for the excellent maintenance of our rifles. This was the first time we did this type of stopping and moving firing with no problems and all the spectators seemed to really like it.i received numerous compliments on how well will did from teachers (especially Edie), Civil War guys and even some parents attending the event. I know there is a lot of down time between lunch and the actual firing but all of you seemed to be enjoying it and this was a good time for our unit to do public relations with all community residents in attendance. Plus we received a nice $50 donation check from the guys of 6th Wisconsin Light Artillery for our efforts in assisting them with the event. All in all a good day for our unit which as I've said before, I'm very proud and honored to be a part of the Honor Guard as I'm sure all of you are. Hope to see most of you Saturday, May 27th for our poppy distribution drive at Miller Park. Take care and stay safe! Dennis
A special note this year is to the VFW & Wally for their Time-Line Demo of Infantry firearms: Civil War rifled Musket, and WW1 Eddystone & WW2 Garand rifles. AND the moving 21-gun salute followed by Taps affected the large public in attendance. (Special Thanks to the Gun Crew for staying later, and helping two more VFW members earn their priming wires.)

May 21, 2017 John Eskau was invited to St. John's military Academy for a special event honoring World War II Veterans, Ron Weber accompanied John as a guest, we had a great lunch, listened to great speakers. It was amazing to sit with these old World War II guys and listen to their stories, the video that we saw is not the one on the website that I posted but it'll be the next one that they'll put up. But the one that is posted on our newsletter today has Harry Boehler on it and the next one that will see eventually has John. Everyone there was so grateful to the World War II guys, coming up to them giving them hugs and kisses shaking their hands. It was a very enjoyable afternoon, I'm glad John invited me to go along. miller park 27 may 2017
