The PA will run a parallel orthopaedic clinic with the Doctors. The PA will handle a strong volume of sports (knee and shoulder cases) and fracture care. Patient responsibilities include: casting and splinting, injections, fracture care, writing scripts, coordinate with PT and ATC, consultation and patient evaluation and education, pre and post H&P s and review lab results in both a clinic and hospital setting. Also, the ACCM Division will now be leading the eicu (electronic intensive care unit) pilot project at BJH. This project is evaluating patient outcomes in an academic center and how they can be improved with lower costs using the coverage and expertise of an eicu.
