News from Board President Michael Everhart A lthough the New Year is still a month away, it s already a new year for the POA. With the beginning of our fiscal year, November 1 st, comes a new budget and new Board of Directors. Elected to the Board were Ashley Gaylord, Vic Jeter, Janet LeCount, and Ken Scarber. We are greatly indebted to our out-going Board members who helped lead us through the difficult first year of operation. These heroes of the POA are Larry Rich, Grant Sassen, Debra Campbell, and Gary Gallagher. For those who missed our annual meeting, President Larry Rich and other Board members outlined the many successes of the past year and the challenges and opportunities we face in 2015. We made great strides with the renovation of the Robinson Pub, Cordell Room and kitchen expansion, all within the allotted budget. It was a banner year at the pool with our new management company and the Amenity side of the operation was also within budget. Our greatest challenge continues be in the area of the Food and Beverage operation and Laurel Room Sales. As Larry Rich pointed out, there is a simple solution to solving the Pub revenue issue and that is for every family to spend just twenty-five dollars more per month in 2015. That along with new cost control measures in place and more consistent food quality will bring us close to the break-even position we require. In addition, we are very pleased with our new General Manager, Aly Leard. She has brought a new level of professionalism and competence that should make 2015 a very good year for our members. At our next Board of Directors meeting on December 16 th, we will formally approve the Board Officers and Committee Chairs for 2015. Designated officers are: Michael Everhart, President; Ken Scarber, Vice- President; Ashley Gaylord, Secretary; Vic Jeter, Treasurer. Committee Chairs are: Finance, Vic Jeter; F&B, John Denison; Social, Aly Leard; Facilities, Janet LeCount; Event Sales, Debra Campbell; Membership, Christy Lemmons, Long Range Planning; Ken Scarber. Board meetings are always open to our members and your participation is vital to our success in 2015. December is a month with lots of wonderful club activities and it is our hope that every family will take advantage of the many events scheduled for this special time of the year. Our best wishes for all our POA families to have a very happy and safe holiday season. Michael BINGO WILL RETURN IN JANUARY Players wanted Our tennis players play Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week at 10:30 a.m., if the air temperature is 40 degrees or above.
