Greetings Eagle Chapter Members and Friends! Gentle reminder! This time tomorrow you could have a great feeling after having honored the lives of $58K Americans who gave all. We did not forget. We hope, if you're able, you can come and serve these great American men and women by making the wall a more enjoyable place for family friends and all visitors to appreciate. We start at 6:30AM pronto!!! For the new members and friends of this post, we sure would like to see you! Very respectfully, Lee Elia C. (Lee) Chambers Chairman/Chief Executive Officer Eagle Chapter Air Force Security Forces Association We published our previous chapter newsletter on August 19, 2016. Eagle Chapter membership is free to all Air Force Security Forces Association members who work or live in DC, DE, MD, VA and WV. Join us. In This Issue Wall Wash TOMORROW Board Approves VCPI Position Eagle Chapter Luncheon Oct 12 at the Pentagon Vice Chair Tidewater Wing Out of the Darkness Walk Great News Sad News Story General Tullos Promotion Chapter Board Meeting Calendar of Events Reminder: Vietnam War Veterans Memorial Wall Wash - Saturday August 27 - That is tomorrow!

Above, with the Washington Monument in the background, Boy Scout Troop members, families and friends join us in a previous wall wash. A total labor of love! Come join us Saturday, August 27 at 0630 / 6:30AM to wash the Vietnam War Veterans and Vietnam War Veteran Women's memorial in Washington DC. Vietnam Security Police Association Chaplain, Jim Stastny, will lead our devotion service that starts our tribute to these brave men and women. Below, Chief Master Sergeant (Retired) Gary Jones discusses historical facts about the men and women who are enshrined on the wall. Chief Jones drives up from Charleston South Carolina to kick our wash off with a devotional service. Thanks again Chief - I can't think you enough for making this one of our most superb events of the year. Please come join us. We are always done by 8AM which is a great way to get your Saturday started.

Our Board Has Approved - Ed - Eagle Chapter's Vice Chair Public Information We are there! At last month's board meeting, I spoke of my plan to increase the responsibilities of our Director of Communications and establish a Vice Chair Public Information (VCPI) position. Since this discussion, we have had a volunteer who one of our board members, Karl, recommended for the position. Please meet Edward Sulinski. Ed and his wife have two daughters and they reside on the outskirts of Washington DC in the VA Commonwealth. Ed is a former Marine Corps enlistee who retired from the Air Force as a Security Forces Major. His assignments include Moody AFB GA, Camp As Sayliyah, Doha, Qatar and Iraq, McGuire, Maxwell, Offutt, and Grand Forks while serving in the Air Force and Cherry Point and Raliegh NC while serving with the Marines. Ed is currently employed as a contractor and serving the Department of Defense as a Senior Defense Analyst. He has a Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Security and Safety Leadership degree from The George Washington U in DC and he has a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from East Carolina U in Greenville NC. Ed will brief the board on his plan to achieve the objectives that we have established for him. I anticiate this presentation to be at the board's September meeting. I invite all members to join us. See details about attending the meeting in our board meeting announcement. Thank-you Ed for volunteering to continue serving our Air Force through Eagle Chapter. Eagle Chapter Luncheon October 12 at the Pentagon Meet and Greet: Marine Corps Lt Gen Laster and HQ USAF Director of Security Forces, Brig Gen Andrea Tullos!

Per my announcement below, we are very honored to have Gen Laster as our speaker. Since this announcement, HQ USAF has informed me that both General Tullos and Chief Hartz will attend. This is a great opportunity to come meet our new Director and our newest Chief. Also, Phil Henning has - so far - been the longest distance member to RSVP - can anyone beat Illinois?? Please see the rest of our announcement below about this great opportunity. We are extremely honored to have Marine Corps Lieutenant General James B Laster as our guest speaker on October 12, Room B8 at the Pentagon Conference Center. General Laster serves as the Director of the Marine Corps Staff at the Pentagon. Our Vice Chair Air Force District of Washington, Karl Blinkinsop, worked for General Laster when they both served at US Special Operations Command and Karl worked for him as the Director of Security Forces and the General served as the Chief of Staff. General Laster is a native of Dallas Texas. He will speak on leadership and ethics. We will provide free meals for all E5s and below.due to the room limitation, we must limit the number. So everyone will attend must notify me in advance. In addition, if you do want to attend and you do not have authorized Pentagon access ID, we need the name as it appears on a government issued ID card. We'll have more details later but we are taking names now. One final note: For our SF and members who work at the Pentagon, we need a detail to help with escorts. Let me know if you can assist here as well. Click here to contact me. If there is interest, we can arrange a special Pentagon Tour. I know I'm going to take a vacation day for this!!! Look forward to seeing you! Vice Chair Tidewater Wing? We're so close to getting help at our Tidewater Wing location - (Joint Base Langley Eustis area). I don't want to scare him off. So I'll only say now that he's an active duty member who has

been submitted under the pen of the SF Commander's secretary. That's about as high as you can get!! Thanks to Ms Rust, Lt Col McCarty, Chief Range, and Capt Floyd for your help in getting the word out! Out of the Darkness Walk - September 9 Attendees at a previous OOD Walk Near Langley (No banner this year - our banner custodian is at Squadron Officer School) Eagle Member and past Chapter Secretary, Rachel Vis, has created a pledge to raise only $150.00 to donate to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. If you would like to participate in Eagle's response to help in donating to Rachel's page and encourage her walk, just go to any Eagle Chapter web page and click on the Donate button. We think we can help her reach her goal! We participated with the 633d in this activity previously and she is continuing it to honor those SF who have made this unfortunate decision to end their lives. Three SF and one SF Spouse have occurred in Eagle Country since our chapter was chartered in 2003 (that we know about). Let's hope it ends. This visibility is designed to help survivors. Great News and Sad News for Eagle Chapter

Captain Jessica Wruck, Eagle Chapter's Program Director, has been selected to serve full time as the Security Forces Operations Officer at the March Air Reserve Base in California. We will no longer have her as our Program Director. Oh boy, it has been a great privilege to have her focus in managing our luncheons and other activities. In the photo above, Captain Wruck participates in the wreath laying at the Maisey Building at Joint Base Anacostia Bolling Washington DC. She, her husband and son depart Eagle Country September 19. Please join me in wishing safe travels and a great career. Resending this due to the overwhelming response! General Tullos Promoted Aug 1!

We were honored to say, "YES" upon receiving the invitation above to attend General Tullos' promotion ceremony on August 1 at the Pentagon. This was a great opportunity for us to meet her other half, sisters and friends of the general as well as again to renew friendships with so many of our friends and supporters at the Pentagon. It provided me yet another chance to "bear hug" Chief White. He's been such a tremendous supporter. It was great seeing him again. We look forward to meeting his successor Chief Master Sergeant Tamala Hartz who will be arriving next month. Below, Eagle Chapter Vice Chair Air Force District of Washington, Karl Blinkinsop, geets General Tullos with our favorite professional magazine! Thanks Karl for also making time to be at General Tullos' promotion ceremony. Eagle Chapter Board Meeting - September 7 Our next chapter board meeting will be held on Wednesday September 7 at 8:00PM. Eagle Chapter Board Meetings are open to members and significant others who would like to participate. We hold our chapter board meetings on the first Wednesday of the month at 8PM via conference call. Email Chairman for more information. Calendar of Events Upcoming events:
