EDUCATIONAL NEED This activity is designed to increase knowledge, improve competence and enchance performance regarding the diagnosis, treatment and management of pediatric patient. Course participant evaluations and our community physician annual needs assessment survey have identified the need for up to date information about the most important changes and advances relevant to the practice of pediatric anesthesia and critical care. Topics to be presented include a variety of evidence based lectures with panel discussions, as well as hands-on workshops in difficult airway, point of care ultrasound and regional anesthesia. This comprehensive update will also be accomplished through the use of simulation scenarios, skill stations, discussions, and small workshops. Participants will have the opportunity to manage patients based upon real scenarios in the Center for Health Technology. This year s conference will provide practitioners with evidence based methods and strategies to assist them in providing better treatment options for their patients. Faculty presenting and interacting with participants at this activity have been selected on the basis of their comprehensive clinical experience and academic excellence. These photos and videos are for our use only and may appear on our website and in printed brochures or other promotional materials. Attendees registration grants UC Davis Health Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine permission and consent for use of this photography and video.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION Early enrollment tuition is $650. Confirmation of registration will be sent within two weeks after receipt of enrollment form. The fees will increase after March 1, 2019. Tuition includes a continental breakfast, refreshments, and lunch on Friday; a continental breakfast on Saturday, and a certificate of attendance. Duplicate certificates are $15. Tuition may be paid by check, American Express, Discover, MasterCard or VISA. Cash is not accepted. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES At the end of the activity, participants should be able to: Recognize perioperative risk factors to identify the difficult pediatric airway. Develop a systematic approach to the assessment and management of the difficult pediatric airway, including cricothyrotomy. Understand options and limitations of new devices for securing the airway. Describe fluid management and related physiology in the pediatric patient. Identify and practice the use of ultrasound to obtain peripheral venous and arterial access. Assess the indications for intraosseous access and utilize appropriate models to practice insertion. Discuss adjuncts for successful intravenous and intra-arterial access. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY A refund of tuition, less $100 administrative fee, will be allowed if requested in writing by April 19, 2019. No refunds will be provided after this date. The Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine reserves the right to cancel this program. In such a case, a full refund will be given.

Additional parking can be found at Lot X (2nd & N Street) who offers a weekend rate of $5.00 for vehicles parked between 6:00am - 6:00am. ACCREDITATION The University of California, Davis Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. CREDIT DESIGNATION Physician Credit: The University of California, Davis, Health designates this live activity for a maximum of 13 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Nurse: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME. For the purpose of re-licensure, the California Board of Registered Nursing accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits (report hours of credit and fill in CME Category 1 for the provider number).
