St. Francis Area Schools SFHS enews - September 14, 2018 ISD 15 MISSION Our mission is to equip all students with the knowledge and skills to empower them to achieve their dreams and full potential while becoming responsible citizens in a dynamic world. Please make sure that female students have extra personal hygiene products (i.e. pads, tampons) in their backpacks or lockers. We have a small supply in the health office for use in case of an emergency. It also is a good idea to have an extra pair of pants to use if needed. * Any donations of personal hygiene products (pads, tampons, etc.) for the health office would be greatly appreciated. You can drop these items off at the greeter station at the SFHS. Thank you! Parking Permits $60/trimester - Cash or Check only (checks made out to SFHS) PSEO/Saints Academy/Saints Online students - Check with Greeter on price. Students will have an option of West or East Lot. Students will not be assigned a specific numbered spot in the lot. All students must have a parking permit in order to park in SFHS parking lots, except the lower lot by the baseball fields. Parking permits will go on sale the 3rd week in September. Locks You can purchase locks in the main office or at the greeter station for $5.00.

Attendance LATE ARRIVALS - Students arriving late to the building will sign in at a kiosk located at the Greeter Station or the Main Office. - Students arriving within the first 10 minutes of class are tardy, anytime after that will be considered an absence. - Student attendance will be updated in Campus, they will NOT receive a pass to class. EARLY DISMISSAL - Students who are leaving class early due to medical appointments, illness, family reasons, etc. WILL receive a pass from the Main or Health Offices noting the departure time and date. UNEXCUSED ABSENCES Students with 12 or more unexcused absence hours may be prohibited from participating in fieldtrips, Prom, Morp, Senior Exemption Days, early release for athletics, etc. There are two (2) options available for clearing unexcused absence hours.

Activities Office News Reminder that $30 passes are available for 9th-12th grade students. Gains admission into all home basketball, wrestling, gymnastics, and hockey games except for section games. Also, gets you into choir concerts, band concerts and school plays. 20 event student passes for grades 1st through 8th graders can be purchased for $60 from the Activities Office or ticket takers at an event. $80 adult passes good for 20 events are also available. General Attendance News Parent/Guardian is requested to call the high school office by 8 a.m. the morning of any student absence at 763-213-1531 or send a note upon the student's return. All students must check in with the greeter or main office on the arrival to school. Parent/Guardian may also email absence information to hsattendance@isd15.org. Absence verification will be allowed up to two (2) school days from the absent date. Parents can check their Infinite Campus account for detailed attendance information. Failure to make up unexcused absences will result in students not being able to participate in field trips, school activities, including Prom. Room D236 - Before & After School & Academic Times Infinite Campus and beyond To all Parents/Guardians of ISD 15 students: Independent School District 15's student information system is Infinite Campus. Click here for more information about Campus Portal. An email has been set up for people to submit questions, or concerns. The address is campus.help@isd15.org There was an update to the Infinite Campus App. It is now asking for a District Name, instead of the District ID. The District Name is St. Francis. Make sure that the period is used and there is a space between St and Francis or it will not work. MULTICULTU RAL & DATES TO REMEMBER Independent School District 15 American Indian Education Boozhoo (Hello-Ojibwe) and Hau ((Hello-Dakota), Welcome all to another great school year. On Tuesday, September 11 we will be having an American Indian Parent Advisory Committee (AIPAC) meeting at St. Francis High School in Room C-204, 5:00-6:30 PM. The AIPAC serves in an advisory role to St. Francis Area Schools to ensure that the educational and cultural needs of American Indian students are being met. High school American Indian students, parents, guardians, grandparents, foster parents, school staff and community members interested in supporting American Indian Education are encouraged to attend; your input is very important! At this first meeting we will schedule monthly meeting dates, learn about the Dream Catcher Project, update on the American

Indian Education Liaison position and non-concurrence, and discussion/development of the 2018-19 school year Indian Education Program Plan.
