Regional Busing for 2018-19 School Year Busing registration for the 2018-19 school year will take place on Tuesday, April 30 in the Edgewood cafeteria from 4:30pm-6:30pm. On April 8 all bus stop information will be available at www.eic.brevardschools.org. Please see the attached flyers for more information.

Mental Health Discussion Panel: Edgewood Jr. /Sr. High School is sponsoring a Mental Health Discussion Panel on April 18, 2019, at 6:00 pm in the Media Center. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. We will have 3-6 mental health professionals from various fields in attendance. Parents are offered the opportunity to email Counselors for Change at info@counselorsforchange.org with questions. The mental health professionals will answer those questions honoring anonymity at the panel discussion. For more information, please contact Administration. Lunch and Learn Seminar On Wednesday, April 24th and Wednesday May 8th there will be a Lunch and Learn Seminar in Ms. Allred's room during Indian Time A. The topic will be: "How to find books that "I" really like and getting interested in reading as entertainment" -Choosing books and series effortlessly. -Using the Kindle Paperwhite. -When should I be reading instead of watching Netflix or playing video games? -Take baby steps on your way to becoming an avid reader -Learn to enjoy the read...and RELAX~! Parents Saturn Elementary needs our help! Edgewood parents can earn their volunteer hours helping out Saturn Elementary, our partner school. They are looking for parent volunteers (must be fingerprinted) to help proctor the FSA on any of the following dates: April 2 nd, May 1-2, and May 7-8. PTO Support! ATTENTION PARENTS! NEED VOLUNTEER HOURS BUT DON T HAVE TIME TO VOLUNTEER? IF SO, THE UNFUNDRAISER IS FOR YOU! You can make a donation directly to Edgewood. Each $5 donated equals one volunteer hour; $100 will take care of the entire 20 hours! Just bring your check into the front office and they will sign off on your parent volunteer form. It s that easy! PTO Minutes are available upon request from Mrs. Roessler. PTO Gift Card Donations Request Requesting Gift Card donations for the Edgewood Appreciation Week (April 12-18) celebrations. These will be used to purchase food for staff and students at Senior Board night, Awards night, and some will be given as tokens of appreciation to teachers during this week. Please donate cards with a value of $25 or less, especially to Target, Publix, BJ's and Walmart- but any gift card is appreciated! The Robotics Classes at Edgewood need your help! Do you have a Lego robot brain, also known as the brick, at home gathering dust? Our Robotic classes could benefit greatly from a few more and would love to have yours! Please do not submit expired box tops! Admission to Games We would appreciate if you could assist us by not paying with any bill lager than a $20 when purchasing a ticket at a sporting event. Go Edgewood! **************************************************************************************** 9-12 High School 2019 Summer Fine Arts Theater Workshop (SFATW) Students entering grades 9-12 as of August 2019 are welcome to apply This year s SFATW productions include Mary Poppins (North Area students) and Fiddler on the Roof (South Area students). The North Area includes those students who attend school north of the Pineda Causeway. Students who attend schools south of the Pineda Causeway will be eligible for the South Area production. All students who are entering grades 9-12 as of August 2019 are welcome to apply. SFATW begins on Tuesday, June 4 th and will conclude on Saturday, June 29 th with the final performance of each show. Merritt Island High School will host the North Area Workshop and Eau Gallie High School will host the South Area Workshop. Bus transportation will be provided via corridor bussing from centralized pickup points. ***************************************************************************************** Juniors and Seniors Rising Senior Night Tuesday, April 16, 2019 Junior parents and students Attend Rising Senior Night from 5:30 6:30 PM in the cafeteria to learn more about senior year events and expenses, senior pictures, college planning, and senior projects. Juniors and their parents can also visit the Senior Project Showcase from 5:00 5:30 or 6:30-7:00 PM in the Media Center. View projects from all three paths (Leadership, Science Research & AP Capstone) and talk with current seniors. ***************************************************************************************** Seniors Senior Showcase Edgewood Friends and family are invited to view this year s Senior Projects from 5PM to 7PM on Tuesday April 16, 2019 in the Media Center. Graduation Ticket Checklist It s hard to believe that we are fast approaching the end of the year. Please review the attached document regarding a few reminders. Please contact Guidance should you have any questions. Senior Scholarship Opportunities New scholarships opportunities are available for seniors. Seniors should check the Focus Guidance Scholarship page for new postings as well as the following websites for the Brevard Schools Foundation annual scholarship packet. The 2019 Brevard Schools Foundation scholarship application portal will be accessible to seniors on Monday, February 18, 2019. The site can be accessed either at: http://brevardschoolsfoundation.org/programs/scholarships, or https://brevardschoolsfoundation.awardspring.com/. Students can preview the scholarships before registering, but must register as a user in order to begin the application. Student s applications can only be submitted through the on-line portal. Contact information is available on the site for student questions. Project Graduation Meeting Thursday April 18 at 7:30pm Edgewood Media Center. Our second to last Project Graduation meeting will start at 7:30 due to an extended PTO meeting. Junior parents are invited and encouraged to attend!! We encourage all to also attend the PTO meeting at 6pm, for the special presentation, a Mental Health Discussion Panel with Counselors for Change.
