National Certificate Cleaning and Caretaking (Level 2) with strands in Commercial Cleaning, and Health Care Facilities This introductory qualification provides general commercial cleaning skills and the option of specialising in areas relevant to commercial cleaning jobs. Programme overview This qualification is designed to provide broad core skills and knowledge for those working in the cleaning services industry. The qualification also includes strands that cover broad transferable skills such as health and safety, communication skills, and service sector competencies. Learning and assessment for this qualification occurs in the workplace. To support learning, a literacy evaluation will take place at the beginning and end of the qualification. Programme outline The qualification covers the following topics: cleaning floors, toilet facilities, furniture and fixtures and glass. safe work practices. The Commercial Cleaning strand allows workplaces or trainees to select from a broad range of unit standards to create a tailored qualification that suits the requirements of their workplace.
