This scholarship fund is in honor of the former Hardin County Sheriff and Past President of the Kentucky Sheriff s Association, the late Robert E. (Bobby) Thomas. Robert E. For the fifth year Whitaker Bank, as part of its continuing title sponsorship of the Boys Sweet 16, and the KHSAA will be presenting four one-time $1,500 scholarships. The scholarships are open to high school seniors that participate in KHSAA sanctioned sports and sport-activities. Deadline for the information to be received by the KHSAA is Feb. 28. There is no limit to the number of applicants from a school. Winners will be recognized during the 2018 Whitaker Bank/KHSAA Boys State Basketball Tournament, March 14-18 in Lexington. KEDC Scholarship The KEDC Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to college (2 or 4 year), technical or vocational bound students graduating from a high school in a KEDC member district. Criteria: The recipient of the KEDC scholarship shall: Maintain a grade point average (GPA) no lower than 3.0 and Meet current benchmarks for the ACT as set by CPE in 13 KAR 2:020. ACT (English = 18, Reading = 20, Mathematics = 19) Write an essay demonstrating potential - (Why are you the best fit for this scholarship?) Must demonstrate financial need; disclose other scholarship awards (types and amounts) Amount: A scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $2,500, to be divided into two equal installments (once per semester).
