CITY OF BARTLETT MAYOR s YOUTH COUNCIL It is time to form the 2017/2018 Mayor s Youth Council. This Council consists of a group of teens that will be selected to work with the City. They will learn about our city s government, gain leadership skills, and give back to the community through projects they select. The Council will also learn how decisions are made on behalf of the City and what issues effect how the City operates. They will be required to attend a Mayor and Board of Alderman meeting along with a City Committee meeting, of their choosing. In April, they attend a Government Day with Mayor McDonald where they will learn firsthand how the city runs on a day-to-day basis. The Mayor s Youth Council will consist of 20 middle and high school students who reside in the city limits. They will be selected through an application and interview process. The council will meet on the 1st Monday of every month during their term. The term coincides with the Bartlett City Schools calendar. If you have questions or concerns about the application process, please feel free to contact the Director of the Council, Deborah Williams, by email debwilliams@cityofbartlett.org
