Who are we? INOVISA is a non-profit association that promotes innovation, knowledge and technology transfer and entrepreneurship within the agricultural, agrifood, forestry, biotech, landscape and environmental sectors, strengthening the links between university and industry and supporting the development of technology and knowledge-based businesses Entrepreneurship and business development Innovation and technology transfer International cooperation for development Digital knowledge communication

Rede INOVAR The Portuguese Agro, Food and Forest Innovation Network INOVISA leads a Portuguese innovation network based on technology and knowledge transfer in the agricultural, food and forestry sectors, to support the transfer of innovative ideas from research labs to the real world: Rede INOVAR. This network was created in 2011 by a consortium of 10 entities representing both the scientific and the business community. Nowadays, Rede INOVAR has 77 national entities, representing the most important stakeholders in the Portuguese agricultural, food and forestry sectors.

Official launch of Rede INOVAR (funded by the Portuguese Rural Development Program) 2011 2012 Launch of networking activities (technological contests, exhibitions and brokerage meetings in business fairs, workshops and seminars for knowledge dissemination and other networking events) Beginning of the elaboration of 4 prospective studies (one for each of the thematic areas: fruits, vegetables and flowers, olive oil, wine and forest), using Delphi Methodology

Launch of a knowledge and technology transfer Web Platform : www.redeinovar.pt 2012 2013 Organization of networking activities Conclusion of the prospective studies First steps towards developing strategic orientations and policies for agricultural, food and forestry sectors at national level Integration of 67 new entities to the network

Raise awareness about the European Innovation Partnership 2013 2014 Organization of networking activities Organization of an event to raise awareness about the European Innovation Partnership (EIP AGRI) and the model for the creation of Operational Groups End of funding Establishment of a partnership with a bank to support the organization of 7 regional workshops, 2 national seminars and an innovation contest in 2014 Intent to partner with the Portuguese National Network for Rural Development to help the implementation of the EIP AGRI in Portugal

Facts & Numbers National recognition of Rede INOVAR s accomplishments and representativeness 77 partners operating in the agricultural, food and forestry sectors, covering all the regions in Portugal: 25 scientific and technological entities; 10 Innovation and technology business centers; 2 regional business clusters; 28 business associations; 6 federations; 5 confederations; 1 public agency for innovation Web platform dedicated to knowledge and technology transfer within the agricultural, food and forestry sectors : www.redeinovar.pt (1001 registered users) 3 technological contests, exhibitions and brokerage meetings in business fairs: FOOD I&DT 2011 Alimentaria&Horexpo 2011 AGROGFOOD itech 2012 Salão Internacional de Agro-negócios - SIAG 2012 FOOD I&DT 2013 - Alimentaria&Horexpo 2013 181 technologies applied to the technological contests (65 technologies in exhibition) 250 brokerage meetings scheduled 2 National workshops about innovation in the agricultural, food and forestry sectors 10 thematic events 4 Prospective studies Funding for the founding consortium (10 entities): around 800.000 for 3 years
