MARIE SKŁODOWSKA-CURIE ACTIONS (MSCA) Funding excellent research careers > Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowships offer attractive career development opportunities in prestigious research teams in Europe, whatever the nationality or scientific domain of the researcher. Organisations from whatever sector and country can participate in MSCA projects. > Innovative Training Network (ITN) advertise positions for researchers at the beginning of their careers on the Euraxess portal. Some of these positions enable trainee researchers to obtain an Industrial Doctorate or a Joint Doctorate. > Individual Fellowships (IF) are for experienced researchers to undertake their own research project at a host organisation in another country, thus gaining new skills through advanced training and possibly intersectoral mobility. > Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) enables international and intersectoral collaboration, based on short-term staff exchanges between organisations worldwide. > Co-Funding of regional, national and international programmes (COFUND) results in many high-quality fellowship or doctoral programme positions (also advertised on the Euraxess portal), which include transnational mobility. Who > Organisations seeking to host researchers, individual experienced researchers seeking to work in another country, possibly in industry including SMEs. How > Researchers can either apply for a specific position offered by an ITN or COFUND project or, if they meet the definition of experienced researcher, submit a proposal in response to a call for proposals for Individual Fellowships. How much > Researchers receive a competitive salary, and allowances to cover travel and family costs. Their employer also benefits from a contribution to research costs, including provision for training and career development. More information, including calls and contact details, on: ec.europa.eu/msca facebook.com/marie.curie.actions Ask the National Contact Point in your country for further assistance: http://goo.gl/vwkogt. The Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions are run by the Research Executive Agency under the EU Research and Innovation Programme Horizon 2020: ec.europa.eu/research/rea.

THE EUROPEAN RESEARCH COUNCIL Where excellence meets creativity > The ERC supports excellent investigator driven, high-risk/highgain, frontier research projects without predetermined research priorities. No consortia, no co-financing are needed. Scientific excellence is the sole evaluation criterion. The ERC offers the following grants to individual researchers: > ERC Starting Grants For researchers at the stage of establishing an independent research career with 2 to 7 years experience since completing their PhD. Funding per grant: up to 2.0 Mio for up to 5 years > ERC Consolidator Grants For researchers at the stage of consolidating their research career with 7 to 12 years experience since completing their PhD. Funding per grant: up to 2.75 Mio for up to 5 years > ERC Advanced Grants For researchers with a track record of significant research achievements in the last 10 years. Funding per grant: up to 3.5 Mio for up to 5 years > ERC Synergy Grants (Pilot scheme) For small groups of researchers collaborating on a complex scientific problem at the frontiers of knowledge. Funding per grant: up to 15 Mio for up to 6 years Who > Top-researchers of any nationality and age from anywhere in the world. Where > Research projects must be carried out in a public or private research institution based in an EU Member State ( ), an Associated Country ( ), or an International European Interest Organisation ( ). How > Applications can be submitted only in response to calls for proposals via the Electronic Proposal Submission Services (EPSS), on the participant portal. > Calls for Proposals are published annually on the: ERC website: http://erc.europa.eu Horizon 2020 Participant Portal: (http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal/)
