Saint Anthony s History Saint Anthony's was founded in 1925 by five pioneering Sisters, who traveled from their General Motherhouse in Thuine, Germany to expand their mission to America. What started as an Infirmary grew into a full-service hospital in 1956. Expanded into a two-campus system in 1989, with the purchase of St. Joseph s Hospital, renaming it Saint Clare s Hospital. Sisters have a strong presence throughout the facilities, working in administration, hospitality, nursing, lab, pastoral care, oncology, cardiology, supportive living facility, and the physicians group.
