They will be dismissed at 11:00 a.m. and the meet begins at 3:00 p.m. Big Valley Elementary School has their yearbook on sale. They are $25 and orders are due by May 1, 2019. Checks can be made out to BVCPC. You can pick up an order form at the elementary school office. Big Valley High yearbooks are still on sale. They can be purchased at the high school office for $50. The CHP will be visiting Big Valley High School for an exploration program assembly on Tuesday, April 16 th. Assembly will be in the high school media center at 12:40 p.m.
Parents and students. Please check all lost and founds for lost items. All lost and found containers (this includes both gyms) will be emptied out during spring break. Report cards will be mailed home on Friday, April 12 th. The Basic Firefighter Training (Basic 32) course at Big Valley High School will be extended into next week through April 17 th. The high school gym will be closed beginning April 11 th at 8:00 a.m. through prom on May 4 th. FFA Movie Night on Friday, April 12 th. Movie this week is Venom. There will be minimum days on Thursday and Friday, April 11 th and 12 th for parent teacher conferences. The elementary school students will be dismissed at 1:05 p.m. and the high school students will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. If you would like to have a conference with your child s teacher, please contact the school. Prom bids are available to purchase at the high school office. Singles are $30 and couples are $45. The best promposal gets a free set of tickets for you and your date. Janesville Elementary School will be hosting a chess tournament on May 9, 2019 for interested 6th, 7th or 8th grade students. Scholarship Opportunities All scholarship information can be located on the scholarship board posted in the high school. The Sagebrush Ranch Horse Association 2019 Scholarship is now available to apply for. Students must be a graduating senior and has attended high school in Lassen County for at least two years or be a Sagebrush Ranch Horse member or dependent child of a member, pursuing a degree at a community college, university or trade school in the field of agriculture and have a grade point average of 2.5 or above during the last two years in high school. Applications are due April 15, 2019. To apply, please pick up a copy of the application which is posted on the scholarship board. The Barbara Keene Richards Education Foundation Scholarship is now available to apply for. Applications are due April 15, 2109. To apply, please see the scholarship board for a copy of the application. The Intermountain Fair Scholarship Program application is available to apply for. Interested applicants may pick up a copy of the application from the scholarship board. The contest is limited to residents of the Big Valley Joint, Fall River Joint Unified School Districts, Mountain Union and Indian Springs School Districts. Girls must have reached their 16 th but not their 20 th birthday before September 1, 2019. Application is due April 15, 2019. Calaveras Big Trees Association Scholarship is now available to apply for. CBTA is proud to be one of the few Cooperating Associations that awards academic Scholarships each year to students who have chosen to pursue an education and/or career in environmentally related fields. To provide a monetary award of $2,500.00 for a promising upper division or graduate student who shows a commitment to communicate and interpret a love of nature and an understanding of the need to practice conservation. Eligibility for application is extended to any student or graduate student enrolled full-time in an accredited California post-secondary educational institution whose educational career goals clearly are directed towards communicating and interpreting nature's wonder. Students pursuing degrees in environmental protection, forestry, wildlife and fisheries, biology, parks and recreation, park management, environmental law and public policy, environmental art, and California history are encouraged to apply. Entries must be submitted by 11:59 pm ET on April 30, 2019. Mountain Valleys Health Centers Scholarship for $1000 is due by April 12, 2019. To be eligible to apply students must be a graduating senior, have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0, must be accepted as a full-time student at a college, university, or trade school program for fall 2019, must demonstrate need for financial assistance, preference will be given to students wishing to enter medical, dental, or behavioral health fields and be a US citizen. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, must be a graduating senior and must be planning to attend college of any sort full time in the fall of 2019. It is due no later than April 19, 2019. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and must be a graduating senior from a high school in Lassen County. You may get a copy of the application from the scholarship board. The ESA Foundation Scholarship is now available. Applicants must be women or minority student, pursuing education leading to careers in computer and video game arts, will be enrolling full time to a study at an accredited four year college or university in the US, have a minimum GPA of 2.75 and be a US citizen. Applicants must be a Lassen County resident age 16-24 and have a minimum

Applicants must have a background in California agriculture, or the student or someone in the student s immediate family must have derived the majority of their income from agriculture, must exhibit financial need and GPA and extracurricular activities indicative of potential for success. The Intermountain Cattlewomen are offering a vocational scholarship due by April 30, 2019. Applicants must have a career objective in agriculture or an agricultural supporting industry, live within the Fall River, Burney or Big Valley Joint Unified School Districts, enrolled as a full time student, pursuing an associate of applied science degree or certification in a trade school related to agriculture as stated above. Students pursuing a four year degree are not eligible. You may pick up a copy of the application from the scholarship board. The Intermountain Cattlewomen College Scholarship is now available. It is due no later than April 30, 2019. Applicants must live within the Fall River, Burney or Big Valley Joint Unified School Districts, have a career objective in agriculture or an agriculture supporting industry, entering freshman through senior year of college, have at least a 2.5 GPA and financial need will be considered. Please see the scholarship board for a copy of the application. Fall River Big Valley Cattlemen s Association Scholarship is due by April 30, 2019. Applicants must be graduating from either Fall River or Big Valley high schools, plan on attending college in the fall of 2019, have a declared interest in studying agriculture or a subject related to agriculture economics, agribusiness, forestry or natural resources and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. The Big Valley Ag Booster Scholarship is now available. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, two letters of recommendation, a statement by the student, a list of honors, awards, scholarships and grants received, extra-curricular activities, SAE and Leadership Activities form and an interview with Ag Boosters Scholarship Committee members.
