SEIZE EVERY OPPORTUNITY AT SCA Pamela Udoye, SCA Class of 2015 University of Notre Dame, invited into Mendoza School of Business I chose to attend the University of Notre Dame, because like SCA, its family atmosphere encourages and motivates its students. I was blessed to learn the value of family through SCA and I will continue to carry that with me throughout my life. TECHNOLOGY SCA provides every student with an ipad equipped with Google Suite, Notability, and Examsoft for use in and out of the classroom. Students are also assigned an SCA email, MMS, and Naviance account to access assignments and grades from home. GUIDANCE SERVICES SCA s guidance counselors are support systems, available daily for individual or parent appointments and group classes. Guidance classes are available for Grades 9-11; seminar classes are available for Grades 9-12. COLLEGE/CAREER RESOURCES All students and their families have access to Naviance (a comprehensive, web-based college planning program). St. Catharine s goal is to find a college that is right for each senior. The College Counseling Program includes: Students participate in a minimum of two college fairs per year College/career search Personal essay/resumé writing Scholarship, Grant, and Financial Aid applications and research Internships College visits and interview preparation Alumnae panels on transition to college life MENTORING PROGRAM Our alumnae are actively part of the SCA family, serving as mentors to help SCA students achieve personal, college, and workplace success. STEP (SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ENTRY PROGRAM) SCA partners with several metro area colleges to prepare SCA students for the Regents, SATs, or college-level science research courses. SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS SCA offers two summer enrichment programs: Kick-Off to High School for incoming 9th grade students and AP Summer Institute for SCA students preparing to take Advanced Placement classes. Each program is two weeks in duration. HEALTH OFFICE SCA provides a full-time registered nurse. The nurse is on campus each day to care for the students, address their individual health needs, and maintain each student s health records. BREAKFAST/LUNCH PROGRAM SCA s breakfast and lunch program is professionally prepared by NR, Cafeteria Services, Inc. 9 10

BE A PART OF THE SCA FAMILY Admission is based on the Test for Admission to Catholic High Schools (TACHS) and the 6th, 7 th, and 8th grade school report. We review attendance and behavior records when considering acceptance. TACHS: #215 ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION An invitation to become a Trustee Scholar is awarded to freshmen who achieve a rank of 92nd percentile on the TACHS examination and meet attendance and behavioral requirements. Students must place SCA on her list of schools on the TACHS in order to be considered for a Trustee Scholarship. A Trustee Scholarship is equal to 55% of tuition. Students must follow the prescribed course of study and meet academic and behavioral standards to remain eligible. Students may enter the Trustee Scholar Program at any level. FINANCIAL AID OPPORTUNITIES Most opportunities for financial aid are available to Grades 9 to 12 through an application process. SCA also participates in the following programs: Be A Student s Friend Children s Scholarship Fund Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club Inc. Application must be made directly to these organizations. 14
