February 21 st, 2017 Invitation to the AfDB Partnerships Forum on 6-7 April 2017 in Abidjan, Cote d Ivoire On behalf of the African Development Bank Group, I am pleased to invite you to the 2017 Partnerships Forum that will be held in Abidjan on 6-7 April 2017. The draft agenda is attached herewith. The Bank organizes periodic Partnerships fora to enhance dialogue with partners across the world. Since our last forum in 2012 in Tunis, Tunisia, the Bank has seen many changes: we have successfully returned to our headquarters in Abidjan, elected a new President and refocused our priority areas. This 2017 Partnerships Forum will be an opportunity to engage with you and will create a platform for the Bank in scaling up investments and leveraging donor resources in the five high priority areas identified in its 2013 2022 Ten Year Strategy. These High 5s include: Light up and Power Up Africa, Feed Africa, Industrialize Africa, Integrate Africa and Improve the Quality of Life for the People of Africa. The Forum therefore focuses on Scaling Up Partnerships and Leveraging Resources For Africa s Transformation. The Forum program will be structured around plenary sessions engaging all stakeholders and open panel-discussions. The interactive format of this year s Partnerships Forum will provide an opportunity to share perspectives, experiences, best practices and recommendations on how to achieve the High 5s in the rapidly changing development landscape. Specifically, presentations will focus on the implementation of the five high priority areas including the resource needs and opportunities for partnerships; present the Bank s resource windows/instruments; and explore how best to mobilize and leverage resources and partnerships to achieve the SDGs which states that all countries and all stakeholders, acting in collaborative partnership, will implement this plan. We therefore look forward interacting with you on with you on innovative partnership opportunities and new business models as well as concrete synergies for our common objectives. Pending the go-live of the site for registrations and further information, if you have further enquiries, please send an e-mail addressed to partnershipsforum@afdb.org.
