No Report REPORT OF COMMITTEES: Rose Sale Committee (Bob Decker): Asked for more volunteers for the Rose Sale at the Publix Northeast on 37 th Avenue N. A roster was passed around for members present to sign up for that Rose Sale. Upcoming Rose Sales are scheduled for May, June, September and October. These will be listed on our website. We re attempting to get April scheduled but it doesn t look promising Requested that when a request for volunteers goes out that you just commit to a time and not wait until others respond so we know what s covered and what s not before the weekend. Marine Decker discussed the experience with the February Rose Sale misunderstanding where the Oceola Fundamental H. S. Band of Seminole also was scheduled for the same date. Regardless of who made the mistake, the only people who suffered was the kids in the band and there has been a consensus by various members of the Detachment that we should do something to help them out. o A motion was put on the floor by Marine Bob Decker to donate $500 to help the Oceola H. S. Band make up what they lost because of the scheduling misunderstanding. o Motion was seconded by Walt Daly o Discussion Marine Weston asked if we hadn t sent them a letter of apology and gave them another day to raise funds. Marine Decker responded, Yes but there is a PR issue to deal with here since the Publix told them that the Marines refused to leave, which was not true. Marine Pate stated the he thought $500 is too much - $200 max. Motion Not Carried o A motion to donate $200 to the Oceola Fundamental H. S. Band was made by Marine Eric Hopkins. o Marine Oliver seconded the motion Motion Passes

Car Show (C. J. Oudendyk): All paperwork has been submitted to SPC requesting November 11 th to have our annual car show and we are waiting for a reply. VAVS (Veterans Affairs Voluntary Service) (Bob Cannon): Reminds us that the Stand-down is on April 8 th. Marine Weston reports that every year she buys several cases of water and 10 or 20 bus passes and takes it over to Volunteer Services on behalf of the Detachment. She is reimbursed by the Detachment. Commandant Cooper and Sr. Vice Commandant both asked if there was anything else we could do for the Stand-down and Marine Cannon indicated that they pretty much have everything covered. Boy Scout Committee (Tim Bulu): Reports that he and Marine David Speegle would be re-chartering the Crew 396 and that there are no Eagle Scouts to present now. Pistol Shoot, T-Shirts & Mugs (John Gluck): Pistol Shoot will be held on March 18 th at the Wyoming Antelope Club at 1000 hours. Marine Gluck has mugs for sale at $10 apiece with your Marine Corps rank or MCL Detachment logo. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Detachment Picnic discussion ensued. Marine Gluck asked for a date so he can get it confirmed. The Commandant asked for a volunteer to be the Picnic Committee Chair and Marine JD Pate volunteered. Commandant asked for a vote whether we preferred Saturday or Sunday. The Detachment preferred Sunday. Do we want a picnic and if so create a picnic committee. John Gluck should have available dates for the Antelope Club. NEW BUSINESS:

None GOOD OF THE LEAGUE: Penny Weston Report on the Mid-Winter Conference. She had various pieces of information to give to the Jr. Vice Commandant concerning membership and other information to the Commandant. She also mentioned that Gulf War Vets and later would not be accepted into the Arlington National Cemetery unless KIA. They are simply running out of room. There was also some discussion at the National Mid-Winter Conference about improper use of the EGA logo by Detachments, especially in conjunction with the Toys 4 Tots program. Also discussed was the Youth Physical Fitness Foundation program headed by Past Commandant of the Marine Corps, General Al Grey. This was a program that was taken into the schools but now due to so many restrictions, it has become harder and harder to get the programs into the schools. You can go to the National website and read about it. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Marine JD Pate announced the Leadership program on the 28 th of April at the MCL Spring Conference at Safety Harbor. Information can be downloaded from the Dept. of FL MCL website. Commandant Cooper stated that the Detachment will pick up the cost of the Registration and Leadership Program fee. Marine Penny Weston announced that on March 25 th there will be Grand Opening festivities for the Veterans Art Center Tampa Bay located at Gas Light Square, 6798 Crosswinds Dr. N., St. Petersburg, FL. Commandant Cooper pledged to keep the website calendar up to date going forward. Marine Bob Cannon thanked everyone who showed up for the unattended services this past Tuesday and the next one will be April 4 th.
