GLOBALMEET RELEASE 3.9.1 This release introduces a new desktop app for meeting guests that allows them to participate in a meeting without Flash and without a GlobalMeet account. Major browsers are switching to HTML5 as their preferred platform for Web-based applications and animation, and away from Flash. Mozilla dropped support for Flash last year and disabled Firefox s use of Flash. Recently, Google automatically set the preference in its Chrome browser to use HTML5 and will block Flash in its December 2016 release. Although users can reactivate Flash in these browsers, the guest desktop app helps ensure that our customers user experience is uninterrupted. SUMMARY OF CHANGES NEW FEATURES AND ENHANCEMENTS This release includes the following enhancements. To support browser participants without Flash, GlobalMeet now checks whether Flash is disabled, and offers assistance in joining the meeting. > It checks Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari (macos only) browsers. > If Flash is disabled, GlobalMeet displays an interim page with a link to download the guest desktop app and instructions for enabling Flash. > The DOWNLOAD DESKTOP APP button downloads the Mac or Windows version of the guest desktop app. > Clicking the DOWNLOAD DESKTOP APP button also sets a cookie which makes it possible for the guest desktop app to automatically start when you navigate to a meeting URL in a non-flash browser. > The interim page includes a link that launches the guest desktop app and sends you to the meeting. If you are an account holder and you have the GlobalMeet for Hosts app installed, it launches the host desktop app. GLOBALMEET RELEASE 3.9.1 1
