- Plan, executed and directed the shift of Navy commands in the region from legacy IT networks to the integrated OCONUS Navy Enterprise-Network. - Managed an annual operating budget of $840K for facilities, staff salaries and benefits, and supplies and equipment. Planned, executed, and grew the office staff by 15 highly skilled technical and administrative staff during tour. Personally developed and implemented the co-op exchange program with the local university, in hiring of 3 full-time employees. Program Officer at US Navy September 2005 - August 2007 (2 years) Worked at Naval Network Warfare Command (NETWARCOM) in Little Creek, Va. NETWARCOM is the US Navy's information operations, intelligence, networks and space unit. Naval Network Warfare Command s mission is to execute, under Commander TENTH Fleet Operational Control, tactical-level command and control of Navy Networks and to leverage Joint Space Capabilities for Navy and Joint Operations. Worked as an Operational Architect managing the development of Department of Defense Architect Framework products to link operational concepts to technical systems and procedures. - Managed the command s reservist program as Coordinator for placement and utilization of 14 officers and enlisted personnel annually in the Tidewater area. Developed a coherent process to track and evaluation of these personnel for efficient integration into on-going projects. Electrical and Engineering Training Officer at US Navy June 1998 - July 2000 (2 years 2 months) Initial sea tour as a newly commissioned officer in the US Navy. Assigned as a division officer in charge of one of the most vital division to the operational capacity of a modern naval warship. As electrical officer, was directly responsible for the electrical systems of the ship and all of its functions. As the engineering training officer, was responsible for ensure all training for the department was planned, conducted and recorded to ensure maximum operational readiness for the ship. - Lead a division of eight (8) sailors through the pre-commissioning phase, initial deployment workup phase, and initial operational deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf. - Responsible for managing ship-to-shore power and versa, upon in-port or at-sea periods. - Responsible for organizing training records of over 80 sailors in the engineering department. - Qualified as Officer-of-the-Deck (OOD at sea) and Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW). - Competitively selected for the Engineering Duty Officer community and the opportunity to earn a Master of Science degree from the Naval Postgraduate School Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training Student at US Navy September 1991 - July 1992 (11 months) Competitively selected for the BOOST program, which was designed to provide an officer ascension path for enlisted sailor to becoming commissioned officers in the US Navy and US Marine Corps. - Completed an intense program providing a year-long training regime of math, science and reading comprehension to better prepare students for the academic rigors of college. - Earned a 4-year NROTC Scholarship to Rochester Institute of Technology Aviation Boatswain's Mate at US Navy August 1989 - August 1991 (2 years 1 month) Page 5
