The group will then be split into five rotating stations, where kids will work on throwing, catching, running the bases, defense and batting. Each night we will repeat the same format with time spent teaching the kids the various positions and terms of the sport, gradually teaching the kids what they need to be able to play a game starting on the fourth night. This program has evolved into one of the more popular summer recreation programs offered in our community. Each day begins with a fun "camp warm-up" which gets everyone loose and lots of touches on the ball. The players are then split up into age-appropriate groups and matched up with a coach for the week. As a group they play fun games and exercises which promote confidence with the ball. Each day ends with scrimmage play which may be different from day to day but encourages every player to be involved as much as possible. All campers receive a Nike soccer ball and Nike t-shirt. This New and Unique Science camp will explore the wonderful and exciting world of Insects. Insects of summer are everywhere, so what better time to study these mysterious, fascinating, crawling, flying, buzzing creatures? 'Bug Campers' will learn more about insects, how to identify an insect from other arthropods, investigate how insects survive, where they live and their benefit to our shared world. Students will spend time collecting insects from the fields and ponds around the Brunswick High School campus (as well as a mystery collection field trip!). They will learn how to identify, label and mount specimens for their OWN COLLECTION! It is sure to be a great time exploring the bugs of our community for a week! Students will have a lunch break.
