NAME BRANCH OF YEARS SERVED SERVICE SERVICE Barnes, Michael L US Navy VietNam, River Patrol 1966-1968. Operation Game Warden Combs, Marilyn US Navy US Naval Reserve 1966-1970 1976-1977 I served a total of 5 years with the United States Navy, first enlisting at age 18, in the USNR (United States Naval Reserve), while a Senior at CMR, becoming the first WAVE from the Great Falls Unit to go on active duty. Mrs. "antiwearing sandals in school" Genevieve Bassett was not only the girls' counselor at CMR, but she was also a Commander at the USNR unit. In November, after graduation, I went on active duty, and was eventually stationed at Coronado Island, San Diego, CA, achieving the rate and rank of Personnelman 3rd Class Petty Officer. I was honorably discharged in 1970. I went back into the Great Falls USNR from 1976 to 1977. My military days were the most fun and most memorable of all time, and it is with great pride that I served this great country of ours for our freedoms that too many take for granted! One (of many) military story I'd like to share is the time my Navy roommate, JoAnn and I went to Tijuana to hit some nightclubs, and while out on the dance floor, I heard someone yell my name. I looked around, wondering who knew me in Tijuana, and who should be out on the dance floor yelling at me? It was none other than Dick Buller! Those were the days! Cunniff, Jeff US Army : In 1970 I received my commission in the US Army. As a 2 nd Lieutenant I attended my

Adjutant General Special Services training in Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis. After three months I was released from my Active duty for training to a ST Louis, MO control group. In 1980 I was promoted to a Captain and released from my military commitment. Davis, Richard 1970-1973 1970-1973 SGT Great Falls Army Reserve 1973-1976 Army Reserve 1973-1976 SP5 Fort Missoula - Denning, Thomas Peace Corps 1970-1972 I served in the Peace Corps from June 1970 through March of 1972 in Colombia South America Erickson, Glenn US Army I attended Reserve Officer Training (U.S. Army ROTC) during my undergraduate program in Fish & Wildlife Management at Montana State University from 1966-1970. I was appointed a 2 nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corp on June 7, 1970. The service granted me a two year delay from Military Service (1970-1972) to attend graduate school at Montana State University in Fish & Wildlife Management. I was ordered to Active Duty for Training at the U.S. Army Medical Field Service School in San Antonio, Texas from January April 1973. Upon graduation with a Masters Degree from MSU, I was placed in the U. S. Army Reserve from 1973-1978. During that period I was promoted to 1 st Lieutenant. On June 8, 1978 I was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army.

Farhman, Bill US Army 1971-1973 Fort Polk, LA Heppner, Dennis Lillevedt, Leon Moen, Harvey United State Navy and WA Air 1966-2006 I am a retired E9 / Chief Master Sergeant, with over 40 years of military service. I started my military career the morning after our high school graduation with a letter informing me that I had been accepted into the. I have been an aircraft mechanic and flew the C- 130 aircraft as a Flight Engineer and retired from all that in 2006. Other than Africa there isn t hardly a destination in the world I haven t been or seen. I participated in campaigns in Bosnia as well as the Middle East. I have landed on dirt strips in the jungles of South America supporting our Special Forces, attempted to put out fires by air dropping chemical retardant in Borneo, as well as the United States and have been fortunate to say I have landed in all 50 states at one time or another. What a memorable experience and getting paid to do it as well! August 1966-August 1968 1969-1978 I served in the United States Navy from August 1966 through August 1968 on the island of Guam. I earned the rank of E-4, SK3 Patten, Donna US Air Force 1972-1996 Retired Paulson, Daryl US Marine Corp 1966-1970 Vietnamese language interpreter in Vietnam 1968-1969- 1 st Marine Division 5 th Marine Regiment in An Hoa; Receiving a Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V. Additionally, Daryl experienced PTSD and wrote two books on his

military. Walking the Point (1994) Haunted by Combat (2007) Pfeiffer, Fred US Navy 1965-1968 Joined the U.S. Naval Reserve in November of 1965 during my senior year at C. M. Russell High school in Great Falls. Attended boot camp in the summer of 1966 after graduation and then returned home for a short time. Assigned to Radioman school in 1967, which was four months of intensive training in learning Morse code and operating teletype machines as well as basic electronics at the Naval Training Center in San Diego, California. October of 1967 reported to Treasure Island in California near San Francisco and assigned to active duty aboard the USS Clarion River (LSMR 409) and flew to Subic Bay in the Philippines to join the crew aboard the ship. Nicknamed the Rocket Rain Makers the small flatbottomed ship traveled to Vietnam and we began support for ground troops just off the coast of Vietnam. My responsibility was to copy and send Teletype messages directing where 5 spin-stabilized rockets were to be launched and at what number of rounds the ground troops requested. The messages were routed by me to the captain on the bridge, sometimes while fire was underway. Lots of noise that was hard on the ears! There were only four LSMR s in the entire Navy so a unique experience. Determining my hearing was poor enough that I should be discharged from military service and was done so honorably on March 1, 1968 as a Third Class Radioman Petty Offficer (E4). Awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam

Service Medal. To date I mange the ship s website that I developed in 1999.
