Veneta Lorraine, Mercy Associate, D.Min., Cranaleith s new executive director, holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Barry University in Miami Shores, FL, and a Master s Degree in Pastoral Theology from Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, MA. Her ministerial background includes campus ministry, theological and religious education, spiritual direction, supervision and retreat work. She was director of programming at Our Lady of Peace Spiritual Center in Narragansett, RI. Most recently, she served as director of Mount Saint Agnes Theological Center for Women in Baltimore. Sister Mary Trainer, RSM, is the founding director of Cranaleith Spiritual Center. She brings her background in organizational development and spirituality into her ministry of leadership development with the staff of groups serving the poor, as well as into her work with leaders in business and the professions through the Center s Work & Spirit programs. She earned a Ph.D. in social psychology from Boston University and a certificate in spiritual guidance from Shalem Institute.

Sister Laura also directs a retreat in July at the Sisters of St. Joseph Retreat Center in Cape May. Sister Mary Jo Kearns, RSM, is a co-director of Mount St. Mary House of Prayer. In addition to more than 30 years of work as a spiritual director and retreat director, Sister Mary Jo has special interests in grief recovery and programs related to holistic development. Each retreat is a six, full-day directed retreat beginning at 7 p.m. on the opening evening and ending after liturgy and breakfast on the closing day.

John has a long association with the mission and values of the Sisters of Mercy through his many years of service as chaplain at Gwynedd Mercy University and as a guest celebrant at community Liturgies. John is currently on the staff of San Alfonso Retreat House in Long Branch, NJ. Julie Grey, OP Sister Julie Grey, a Dominican Sister of Peace, has a Master's degree in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University. She is a graduate of the Institute for Spiritual Leadership (ISL) in Chicago and the Center for Religious Development in Cambridge, MA. Her work includes spiritual direction and program development at Emmaus Spiritual Life Center in Connecticut. She has given directed retreats throughout New England and has served in formation ministry for her congregation. Sister Julie is currently a full-time director at St. Raphaela Center. Liz Sweeney, SSJ Liz Sweeney SSJ, a Sister of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia, serves as a spiritual director for individuals and groups at Jesus House in Wilmington, Delaware. In recent years her ministry has broadened to include the development of integral spirituality and consciousness transformation through the practice of contemplative dialogue. Solitude Retreat

June 11 to-18 Directed Retreats Margaret Ellen Burke, SC Sister Margaret Ellen Burke, SC is a New York Sister of Charity. Margaret has been training and supervising spiritual directors for over 25 years as well as giving retreats (directed, guided, preached) in U.S. and Canada. As co-founder and director of the Center of Renewal and Education she focuses on the formation and spiritual development of lay leaders in the upper counties of the NY Archdiocese. Her background also includes years of chaplaincy to the terminally ill. Hiking is one of her favorite pastimes and she is rarely seen without her camera. She presently resides at the organic farm of the Sisters of Charity in Dutchess Co. NY Kathleen Gannon, OSF Kathleen Gannon has ministered as a spiritual director for many years, initially companioning women in formation in her Congregation. Trained as a spiritual director in Guelph, Canada, and immersed in continued education and training in the Spiritual Exercises through the lens of Franciscan spirituality in Cincinnati, OH. Kathleen has been invited to various places in the U.S. as a retreat director. For more than 15 years at the School of Applied Theology, in Berkeley, CA, Kathleen had the privilege of being a spiritual director and retreat director for women and men from around the world. Presently Kathleen is in Philadelphia and continues to minister as a spiritual director. She also ministers as a massage therapist in her Congregation s retirement home. Sharon Browning Sharon Browning, Esq. shepherds JUST Listening, a social enterprise fostering personal and social change and transformation through the practice and teaching of mindful listening and communication skills. The work of JUST Listening is twofold: the facilitation of training workshops, retreats, and difficult conversations, focusing primarily on those working with marginalized individuals and groups, and the training and supervision of Listening projects in which volunteers JUST Listen to people on the social margins. She is an attorney, spiritual director and supervisor, and facilitates retreats and workshops on a variety of spiritual topics. For more information see www.justlistening.net Solitude Retreat June 18 to 25 Conference Retreat Mary Sullivan, RSM Sister Mary Sullivan is a member of the NyPPaW (New York, Pennsylvania, Pacific West) Community of the Sisters of Mercy. Mary holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Notre Dame (1964) and a Master s in Theology (Systematic Theology) from the University of London (1988). She is Professor Emerita of Literature and Dean Emerita of the College of Liberal Arts at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). She is the author or editor of Catherine McAuley and the Tradition of Mercy, The Friendship of Florence Nightingale and Mary Clare Moore, The Correspondence of Catherine McAuley, 1818-1841 and The Path of Mercy: The Life of Catherine McAuley, as well as several articles on Catherine McAuley and Mercy Spirituality. Her current research focuses on the sources of Catherine McAuley s authentic instructions and sayings.

June 18 to 25 Conference Retreat (continued) Retreat Title: Following Jesus and the Gospel with Catherine McAuley During this retreat we will try to learn from certain women and men in the gospels and from Catherine McAuley what the following of Jesus Christ means for us as Sisters of Mercy today. We will focus on certain Gospel passages and on Catherine's life in the hope that we may now more fully surrender to what Jesus' Gospel asks of each of us. This will be our prayer together. We will use Morning and Evening Prayer of the Sisters of Mercy, the Bible and The Practical Sayings of Catherine McAuley, published in 2010 ( a small, thin, grayish-covered paperback with Mary Pat Garvin's photograph of part of the statue of Catherine McAuley on the cover). If you don't have a copy of this book or can't find your copy, don't worry: Mary will be bringing many extra copies. September 10 to 17 Directed Retreats Mary Carboy, SSJ Sister Mary Carboy is currently in full-time ministry as spiritual/retreat director at St. Raphaela Center, Haverford, PA. Mary graduated from Duquesne University with an M.A. in Formative Spirituality and completed programs in direction through the Center for Spirituality in Wernersville, PA and Chestnut Hill, PA. Frank Doyle, OSA Frank Doyle was ordained an Augustinian Priest in 1970 and has been involved from time to time in parish ministry both here and abroad with the Sisters of Mercy. He has been a formation director in various capacities since 1975 and has been a staff member at several retreat centers. Since returning from missionary ministry in South Africa he is presently ministering with men in preparation for novitiate while continuing to accompany others in spiritual direction. He is a trustee of Villanova University and a member of the Augustinian provincial council. Chris Koellhoffer, IHM Sister Chris Koellhoffer, a Sister, Servant of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM Scranton), is the creator of the Mobile Spirituality Ministry. Her background is in communications and spirituality, with professional experience in education, communications, pastoral work and leadership. A writer, presenter, and spiritual guide, Sister Chris has broad experience in leading retreats spirituality programs, justice work and in shaping and facilitating process that connects the soul of a group with the soul of the church and the world. August 6 to 13, 2016 Sister Mary Waskowiak, RSM Praying Mercy from the Inside-Out In this Year of Mercy let us come together in silence and prayer to deeply befriend those places of mercy, compassion and healing inside ourselves. Let us welcome the inner places where forgiveness calls. We do this to turn ourselves inside-out in bringing mercy, compassion, healing and forgiveness to others, to suffering people across the globe, and to the far reaches of our universe. The retreat days will offer options that include daily presentation, guided prayer experience, spiritual direction and evening sharing. October 8 to 15, 2016 Sister Margaret Ellen Burke, SC Transitions to Transformation Transitions are part of the fabric of our lives. They take many shapes and present a constant challenge to us. Through Scripture, music and poetry we will reflect on our personal patterns in response to the transitions in our lives.
