POST PROM: Post-Prom sign up link is available through the Trumbull High Website. Please complete the online registration and follow the directions to print out the waiver form. Signed waivers should be returned no later than May 15th. They can be returned to the PTSA mailbox in the main office. AFTER SCHOOL TODAY SPANISH CLUB is meeting after school on Monday, May 15 th in the Senior Lounge. Please bring food and drinks to share! The RED CROSS CLUB will be holding elections for next year's officer positions on Monday, May 15th, after school in room B-1. All students who are interested in running for a position should prepare a brief (2-3 minute) speech about why they are seeking election. Students interested in running and voting should make every effort to attend this meeting. Any student who would like to run for a position but is unable to attend the meeting should submit a brief write up to Mr. Evans that he could read at the meeting.
TOMORROW VOTER REGISTRATION: The Registrar of Voters will be here on Tuesday, May 16 th from 9:00 a.m. to Noon to register students to vote. Tables will be set up in the hallway between the senior lounge and the gym. Students are strongly encouraged to register to vote, which is an important aspect of our democracy. NEW INFORMATION ALL STUDENTS: If you're planning on completing an internship or service learning project this summer and haven't gotten the necessary paperwork/information from Ms. Eisenberg, please schedule an appointment with her in the College & Career Center prior to the end of the school year. BIRD WATCHERS ASSOCIATION: Are you a bird lover? Do you find yourself alone at nights watching birds through binoculars? Do you wish you had a place to use your favorite bird seed? Join the Jonathan Trumbull Bird Watchers Association and finally have a home for your hobby. Come join curators and bird fanatics like Lucas Schultz and Spencer Biebel as they attempt to inform the community about the importance of birds in our society. There is a BYOB policy (Bring Your Own Binoculars) and members are encouraged to bring their favorite bird seed. The next annual meeting will be held on C38 on Wednesday, May 17th after school. ECE PROGRAM: For all students who are signed up for an ECE/UCONN class next year please report to the career center during your homeroom period on May 15 th for information about the ECE program. YEARBOOKS: Yearbooks are coming! June 2 nd is the day for everyone. Seniors can pick up or purchase books at the Senior Breakfast during periods 1 & 2. PROM: Students who are attending prom and would like to leave early must submit an Early Dismissal permission form to their House Office BEFORE May 30. The Early Dismissal pass will be returned to students on May 31 st during homeroom. Students who submit the form after May 30 will need to pick up their pass in their House Office on the day of the dance (June 2) after 11:00 am. Early Dismissal forms are available in your House Office. #FYI ATTENTION FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS: We're excited to announce the launch of the Trumbull High School's College and Career Center activities website. Over the rest of your high school years, you'll be using the website to participate in the various career exploration activities offered by the high school. These include Internships, Service Learning Projects, Job Shadowing, Field Trips, Guest Speakers and Workshops. For now, you'll use the website to let us know what activities and career paths you're interested in, and to sign-up for those activities when one appeals to you. Food will be served at the last meeting. "Marcelo in the Real World" by Francisco X. Stork is the story of Marcelo, who has attended a special school and has autism. He hears music no one else can hear. His dad wants him to gradually get out in "the real world" by working for his law firm in his junior summer. During the summer he meets a girl and has many new experiences. Told with honesty and purity, this book is well worth reading. CLUBS YOUTH TO YOUTH CLUB: The Youth to Youth Group, Trumbull Recreation Department, Trumbull Police Department and TPAUD will be sponsoring the Dodge-A-Cop Dodgeball Tournament on Thursday, May 25 th at Hillcrest Middle School. Games will begin at 4:00pm. Sign-ups will take place in the commons during the lunch waves the week of May 15 th. The cost is $15 cash per individual, with teams made up of 6 participants with a Police Officer on each team. You should have your money (cash only) and your team paperwork together at sign ups. Only a limited number of teams will be allowed to participate, so sign up early! COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Booth Hill School Talent Show of 2017 needs volunteers. May 19 th 5-8pm and May 21st 3-5pm. Volunteers must be able to participate both days preferably. We need help with: 1. stage hands- guiding kids, prop set up, break down 2. Back stage - help coordinate kids for their next act, make up or costume fixes 3. Ticket sale or concession 4. Front door- help collect tickets 5. Raffles- help deliver to winners. We are looking for about 8 individuals. The presentation will focus on skills such as: etiquette, online presence, communication skills, writing skills, presentation skills, time management, networking, independence, teamwork skills, and leadership skills as necessary components to a successful transition to college & career.
