Season Outlook T he CVCC Pirates Men s Basketball Team begins the season with a squad that has tremendous potential. Led by Sophomore Donnie Williams in the back court, the team is enhanced by a decorated group of newcomers ready to take on the season with a passion to win! Last season was the first time in Coach Mahone s tenure that the team did not make the playoffs, so the Pirates have their sights set on surpassing last year s season with a vengeance. We are excited about this year s team, said Mahone. Our new players are very talented and very skilled. As a team, we must accomplish the Six C s of basketball: Compete, Composure, Consistency, Concentration, Communication and Complementing. The Pirates must play tough defense, minimize turnovers, and get a better shot selection. They look forward to working hard to accomplish these goals and SUCCEED above and beyond!
