News From Mrs. DeLeo: Transitioning from one school to another brings excitement and anxiety to students and parents alike. To address this, a group of 6th graders have been working with Mrs. St. Michel, Mrs. DeLeo, and the Aitken and Martin 5th grade Tech Team members, under the guidance of Mrs. Quaratella. Their goal is to complete a collaborative project consisting of podcasts and videoclips addressing questions and concerns about the elementary to middle school transition. The finished projects will be presented to 5th grade parents at 7:00 P.M. during their Parent Orientation Night on Monday, June 16, 2008 and to 5th students who will also visit the middle school in June. Mrs. DeLeo is now working with Mrs. Fitzgerald, the Transition Coordinator and Ms. Lawrence, a 9th grade English teacher from the high school, to create podcasts for our current 8th graders - soon-to-be the next high school freshmen class. Please email her at deleok@seekonk.k12.ma.us with any questions or concerns of your own that may be addressed through this endeavor. ATTENTION BAND PARENTS!!!!! GREAT EAST FESTIVAL---CANOBIE LAKE PARK Band parents please be sure to check the band web site for information regarding the Great East Festival and Canobie Lake Park. To access the web site, visit the KHMS home page, click on "For Parents" and then click on "Band Parents". Please be sure to click on the Canobie Lake site and also the Great East (bus assignment) site. You will find useful information regarding the itinerary for the day, what to bring to the park, performance schedule, driving directions and your bus assignments. Please be sure to read all of the information carefully as it should answer most of the questions that you might have. As a reminder, continue to check the band parent's web site for any new information that may be posted prior to the Great East Festival/Canobie Lake on May 30th. Also, FYI- all students currently in Band this year at the middle school will be scheduled for Band next year unless they complete a Band Change Form. Mrs. Grande and the Guidance Counselors have these forms for interested students. They must be signed by a students parent/guardian and Mrs. Grande and are due back by Wednesday, May 21, 2008. Forms can be returned to the Main Office. 2.
