Traditional Bachelor s Degree Currently: PNC: Offers three options to obtain a Bachelor s Degree in Science, the traditional 4 year program, the LPN to BS degree, or the RN to BS degree. PUC: Offers three options for a Bachelor of Science (Nursing). The 4 year Professional Nursing Track, the Nursing Accelerated Bachelor s Second Degree Track, the LPN Transition to BS Track and the RN-BS Online Program. The PNW College of Nursing: The current plan is that PNW will offer the 4 year Professional Nursing Track and the Accelerated Bachelors Second Degree program at the PNC and PUC campus. The RN-BS Online program will continue as administered by PUC and the PNC department of nursing will eliminate the RN-BS degree track currently offered at PNC. Impact on Students. Unification of PNC and PUC will cause a change in the POS for incoming students. Students already enrolled in the nursing program will continue in the current plan of study until graduation. Students currently in the RN-BS at PNC will finish courses at PNC. new enrollments for the RN-BS program will be taken in the Spring of 2016. Impact on University Resources. Increased number of nursing courses and nursing credit hours by 10 credit hours (71 Nursing Credit hours to 81 nursing credit hours) will increase the need for more nursing faculty. Impact on other Academic Units. Changes in Mathematics prerequisite will impact the mathematics department (MA 11000 or Higher). Changes in the FYE (GS19100) course will require a nursing faculty instead of a liberal arts faculty to teach the FYE (NUR 18100). Multiple Statistics courses are offered PUC offers SOC 38200 while PNC students had the option of a 300 level STATS course. STATS 31000 or STATS 30100 will still be accepted for the STAT requirement in the PNW POS. (Boxes will expand and spill over onto next page to accommodate your typing.)
