Ongoing Activities for Patients and Caregivers. Cancer Fighter Activities - Join other guests as we start our day together. Coffee and juice are provided. Tuesdays and Thursdays from in the Dining Room. - Come take a tour of our facility and learn where everything you ll need is in the hospital. Tuesdays and Thursdays from starting in the Lobby. - Meet other patients and caregivers at this casual social event. Cookies and fruit provided. Tuesdays from in the Dining Room. Mind-Body Medicine Activities - A time for patients and caregivers to be creative, let imagination run free and improve mood and wellbeing. Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Mind-Body Medicine Reception Area. - Laughter is the best medicine! Stop and take a moment to join us for a laugh. Wednesdays at in the Lobby. QiGong Breathe, Stretch and Support - Guests will be able to relax and and boost their immune systems. Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Mind-Body Medicine Reception Area. Nutrition Activities Grocery Shopping with the Dietitian - Join us for an education session on grocery shopping 101 led by a CTCA dietitian at Fry s Food. First Thursdays from Meet in the Lobby. Other Regular Activities Bingo - Guests enjoy a social time with other patients and caregivers and can even win fun prizes! First and third Wednesdays from, and fourth Saturdays from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Dysart. Drumming Sounds - Join us for an evening of recreational music to relax and have fun! First Mondays from 6:00-7:30 pm. and first and third Thursdays from on the Patio. Knitting - Come enjoy a relaxing afternoon of knitting. No experience is required and all supplies are provided. Come for the full hours or drop by in between appointments! Every Friday from Off-Site Activities Movie Outings- Enjoy a movie at one of the local theatres. Transportation and movie passes provided for our guests staying in Outpatient Accommodations. Shopping Outings- Do you enjoy shopping at the outlet stores or dining at great restaurants? Get out and enjoy the day at the Arizona malls. Sporting Events- Seasonal sports events are offered for patients and caregivers. Enjoy baseball, basketball, football and hockey. On-Site Activities Pastoral Care Activities Bible - Come join us for an interactive exploration through the Bible. This is a time to engage, inspire, and be encouraged through biblical principles and fellowship. Fridays from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Caregiver Support - Do you feel you are alone or need resources in taking care of your loved one with cancer? Connect with caregivers as you all share strengths and opportunities as well as challenges of being a caregiver. This group is open to all faiths. Thursdays from, in the Chapel. The - Struggling to find forgiveness or letting go of bitterness and anger? Connect with others as they journey through the book The and discover healing for the soul. This group is open to all belief systems. Wednesdays from in the Chapel. - Have you felt alone, misunderstood or hopeless on your journey with cancer? Do you like to encourage and share ways you overcome your difficult days with others? Join other cancer patients in sharing your stories of hope and challenges. Mondays from in the Chapel. Prayer - A time to gather and support each other through prayers. Patients and caregivers are all welcome. Tuesdays from, in the Chapel. Sunday Worship - Join others for a time of fellowship in unity of the faith. We welcome your gifts of singing, playing musical instruments, or sharing devotions as we gather in worship. Sundays at 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Patient Relations Activities : Focus -This event is an opportunity for patients and caregivers to share their CTCA Experience with members of the Patient Relation s Team. All patients and caregivers are welcome! Refreshments are provided. Tuesdays from in the Mission Conference Room. Rehabilitation Activities Imaging and Radiation Oncology Tours - View the on-site equipment used for tests and treatment. Wednesdays at 12:00 and 12:30 p.m. in the Imaging and Radiation Reception Areas. Intro to - integrates light physical activity with breathing techniques to improve mental well-being. Thursdays from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the Promise Conference Room. G.E.T. Team Policies All events are for active patients and caregivers at Western Regional Medical Center. Sometimes being able to relieve those small worries can take a lot of stress out of their day. -Jennifer Rogers, Child Life Specialist: I love getting to know our families, and I feel privileged to offer support that helps them stay focused on what is most important to them! -Jeff Paparone, Pastoral Care: I love that I am a part of something greater than just myself. Together, we all accomplish so much more than one singular entity, discipline or person. Hospitality Suite at the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Don t forget to visit the Hospitality Suites at the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn during your stay at CTCA at Western Regional Medical Center. CTCA has a great relationship with our partnering hotels and we are proud to offer a space for our patients and caregivers to relax and hang out with each other. Both suites are equipped with books, games, movies and puzzles for you to enjoy! There are also a number of activities including Bingo, Movie Night and Game Night hosted at the Holiday Inn. Game Closet Did you know CTCA has a game and craft closet for you to use while you re waiting for appointments or hanging out at the hospital? The game closet is located on the 2nd Floor in the Patient Activity Area (across from the Chapel). The closet is always unlocked and available to you. You are welcome to use the crafts, games and puzzles at your leisure. 2
