That it will look different in different communities is a given, and is the beginning of understanding why we cannot legislate how to teach, or put all our eggs in standardized measurements of success. Thursday, September 12 7:00 p.m. -- Get The Math (pictured above) helps middle and high school students develop algebraic thinking skills for solving real-world problems. Drawing on conventions of popular reality TV shows, Get The Math challenges teens to solve a series of problems using algebraic thinking. Segments begin with profiles of young professionals with interesting careers in fashion design, video game development and music production. Then, those individuals challenge two pairs of high school students to work through problems connected to their jobs. The proven evidence-based curriculum motivates and equips adults to implement both safety rules (non-technical measures) and software tools (technical measures) on youth s Internet enabled devices.
