New dreams begin flowing that first and foremost all share one common thought and that shouts, "Certainly this year could possibly be an even better year yet". Why not? A great start is by going to the Mid-America Boat Show at the IX Center 15-19 January. Dreams of summer excursions are delightful and overwhelm the frightful weather just outside the door. Be sure to visit the USPS BOAT SHOW BOOTH. It is our best display yet that unites boating education with boating friendship. Cdr James F Hoffee, SN Speaking of which, I just picked our new 1'x10' banner. It displays our SCPS pennant with the following new USPS slogan "Come for the Boating Education... Stay for the Friends". It goes nice with our other recently acquired banners which were all designed by our own P/D/Lt/C Irene Rodriguez, SN. We thank Irene "big time" for these great designs and creating a PFD format that resulted in a significant cost savings for our squadron. Check our "Soundings" calendar in February for our squadrons celebration of USPS Founders Day. Come and enjoy the good food and celebration. Special Notice Please help to get the word out about the upcoming America s Boating Course starting 10 February, 2015 at the Louisville YMCA. See page 5 for details. We have a member that has given a large donation to cover the cost of the materials (a $30.00 value for each book) so there will be no charge for the class. Please help to grow SCPS!
