Crayola ColorCycle Grissom Patriots are collecting used markers and highlighters (any brand) to be converted into clean fuel. This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals and more! Green collection boxes will be in each classroom and on the bench outside the Commons. The program can keep tons of plastic out of landfills each year. Remember, don t throw out that used marker ColorCycle it!
Jazz Band Jazz Band rehearses at Prairie View each Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:15 pm.
Box Tops for Education The PE department is collecting Box Tops for Education. Please turn them in to your PE/Health teacher.
8 th Grade Parent Meeting There will be a meeting for parents of current 8 th graders at Andrew High School tonight at 7:00. They will be discussing the placement exam and registration procedures.

Tuesday is Pack the Gym night for the girls basketball teams as they play their cross-town rivals, Prairie View! Be sure to wear your Grissom spirit wear to school!
Marcus Theatre Tickets The PTO is selling Marcus Theatre tickets and gift cards. They make great gifts! Order forms were sent home last week, and are due TODAY! Tickets will be sent home the week of Nov. 12 th.
Donate Your Candy! NJHS is collecting unwanted Halloween candy to send to our troops, giving them a taste of home. Turn in your candy to the Main Office between Monday, Oct. 29 th and Friday, Nov. 2 nd.

You Can Do the Cube Returns! Beginning Nov. 26 th in the Media Center, you may borrow a Rubik s Cube to help us complete a mosaic image. In order to participate, you must meet the following requirements: *No fines! *No overdue books! *You must have your ID with you!
The Book Fair is Coming! The Book Fair is Coming! Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 31 st, you may shop online at Grissom s fair by going to Scholastic.com Shop early! The Media Center Book Fair will be Monday, Nov. 12-Friday, Nov. 16.
Chorus Chorus rehearses after school every Monday and Thursday.
Board Game Club The first meeting of Board Game Club is Tuesday, Oct. 30 th. We will meet in the Art Room until 4:05.
Intramurals Intramural sports are held Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:45-8:30. Volleyball intramurals are held on Tuesday, and Basketball intramurals are held on Thursday.
Ronald McDonald House Charities Grissom is once again collecting pop tabs to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities! The pop tabs are recycled and sold for scrap metal. Last year, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana raised more than $40,000 from this program. There is a collection box on the bench outside the Commons for your donations.
Student Support Student Support is held in the Media Center before school every day from 8:00 8:35 and after school Monday through Thursday from 3:10-4:05. Please be sure to bring your work with you! You will need to sign in and stay the entire time. If you are a bus rider, please remember to sign up for the activity bus that day!
Water Bottle Filling Station Challenge Last year Grissom Patriots saved 10,263 plastic water bottles from ending up in landfills by using the water bottle filling stations throughout the building. So far this year, we have saved 3,309 bottles! Please remember to use these instead of plastic bottles!
