Statements & Search Criteria Mission The mission of Leadership Collierville is to heighten the quantity, quality and effectiveness of community leaders in Collierville. Background Leadership Collierville was established in 1994 by a small group of town and business leaders to fulfill the requirements for Collierville to be a Three-Star community. To date over 450 adults and 325 high school sophomores and juniors have graduated from the program. Our program helps participants become more aware of issues that impact our town not only by providing dialogue and interaction with key decision-makers from our local government, but also from the businesses and non-profit agencies that help enhance Collierville. Impact It is Leadership Collierville's intent to educate class participants that becoming engaged in Collierville, where participants work and/or live, is crucial for not only community and career development, but personal development. Each year, the class participates in a community project. In years past, classes have assisted in the management of creating the mural on the historic town square. Another class developed and implemented the '72 - Collierville Time to Prepare' Campaign, which was to urge all Collierville citizens to be prepared for 72 hours in the event of an emergency. The class of 2016-2017 restored the bell on the antique FRISCO 1351 train engine located at the town square. In the past couple of years, Youth Leadership Collierville has worked in a community garden. The produce yielded from this garden is donated to the Food Pantry. Needs Leadership Collierville is made possible because of the generous support of area businesses, individuals, and alumni. Your continued support of our program ensures that we will continue to develop better leaders in our community. Because our organization only has one part-time staff employee, it was important to outsource a financial service and CPA. In the spring, we organize our annual trivia night, which is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the program. Gifts and door prizes are necessary to hold the event. "Day" donors are welcome to provide food/drinks to participants on class days. Areas Of Service Areas Served Areas TN - Collierville TN - 38017 The men and women selected each year represent a diverse cross-section of the Collierville community. We also offer a youth program - Youth Leadership Collierville, who attend public or private schools or are homeschooled. Service Categories Community & Neighbourhood Development Youth Development-Citizenship Cultural & Ethnic Awareness 2
