Press Release PRESS RELEASE: April 4, 2012 NIESBUD Organizes A Recruiters Meet/Job Fair The National Institute for Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development (NIESBUD), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India, which has been organizing different kind of skill development programmes/ entrepreneurship-cum-skill development programmes/ entrepreneurship development programmes throughout the country, organized a Recruiters Meet/Job Fair at its Campus in NOIDA on April 04, 2012 in association with M/s MITCON. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Sh. Anurag Misra, Director & GM- cum- Chief Editor, Employment News, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India. The Event was organized for the beneficiaries of the training activities of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) who were looking for wage employment in the trades of Retail Management; Hotel & Hospitality; Garment Designing; Food Processing; Travel & Tourism; Artificial Jewellery Making; Computer Hardware & Networking; Desktop Publishing (DTP); Web Designing; AC, Water Cooler & Refrigerator
Repairing; Photography & Photoshop; Household Electrical Appliances and Mobile Repairing. A total of 31 Recruiters including M/s Walmart, M/s K.S. Enterprises, M/s Unitone Media Pvt. Ltd., M/s Intec Infonet, M/s Naukri.com, M/s Razzak Enterprises etc. participated in the Event. It was quite successful event and about 100 persons have been placed with different employers. Over and above, everyone else got a chance to interact with renowned Job provider like M/s Naukri.com and other consultancy services with the assurance that they will be placed soon. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Arun Kumar Jha, Director General of NIESBUD elucidated that the first priority of the conduct of the different skill training activities by the Institute is to promote self employment (entrepreneurship) among the participants with the wage-employment being the second one. In view of the tremendous response generated by the Event, Shri Jha expressed hope that the Institute will organize more such Events in near future.

The first project under the collaboration is organizing of Training of Trainers Programme for MSME Sector. NIESBUD & IFC Rollout Innovative Training of Trainers (TOT) Programme for MSME Sector The National Institute for Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development (NIESBUD), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India, has joined hands with the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group,
for jointly undertaking different Projects relating to entrepreneurship development in India. A Memorandum of Understanding to this effect has been signed today in New Delhi between the two in the august presence of Sh. Virbhadra Singh, the Hon ble Union Minister of MSME. As a sequel, the NIESBUD will collaborate with the IFC in conducting Training of Trainers (TOT) programme, based upon their vast experience in the area, for strengthening the training skills of MSME Trainers so that they are in a better position to impart training and thus facilitate sustenance of this vital sector of the Indian Economy. The ultimate objective is to create a cadre of Master Trainers who would, in turn, replicate the model to impart training for MSME Sector in a much bigger way. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon ble Minister elucidated the crucial role of the MSME Sector in achieving different socio-economic objectives. The Hon ble Minister also elaborated the necessity of equipping the workforce of the country with the required skills for enabling the country to reap the demographic dividend. R.K. Mathur, Secretary (MSME); Amarendra Sinha, AS & DC (MSME); Arun Kumar Jha, Director General, NIESBUD and Anil Sinha, IFC General Manager for Advisory Services while briefing the press about the collaborative venture of NIESBUD & IFC, expressed the hope that the programme(s) will go a long way in improving business skills and knowledge transfer, measuring outcomes through ensuring application of the acquired skills and building a professional community among MSME trainers. The Pilot Programme(s) will be organized for the selected Trainers from across the 5 identified States/U.Ts. The Programme(s) shall involve the use of the Business Edge Training of Trainers methodology of IFC which has been rolled out in 29 countries so far. The methodology is a learning platform for small businesses that includes a comprehensive and effective approach to equip trainers with key facilitation skills.
