Join us February 24 25, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, GA for our 2nd Annual Recertification Board Review Course in the Specialty of Public Health & General Preventive Medicine. The course is designed to assist diplomates study for the recertification board examination. This comprehensive course will focus on the specialty of Public Health and General Preventive Medicine and will present an in-depth review of the following areas: C linical Preventive Medicine, including injury prevention; infectious disease; and screening, counseling and chemoprevention for chronic diseases, with emphasis on recommendations from the USPSTF. E nvironmental Health, including air quality, water quality and food quality; radiation; physical stressors; risk assessment; waste management; along with legislation relevant to these topics. E pidemiology, including data sources; study design; bias, causality, and generalizability; measures of morbidity and mortality; measures of effect; human subjects review. H ealth Services Administration, including organization and financing of public and private sectors of health care; public health practice; systems-based practice including medical errors, quality measurement, assessment, and improvement; and disease management. In addition, the course will conclude with a presentation on the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part IV requirement by ACPM s CME/MOC Committee leaders and the American Board of Preventive Medicine staff. The presentation will allow current diplomates understand and ask questions about the MOC recertification process. Course Objectives: E ffectively prepare for the certifying examination in the specialty of Public Health/General Preventive Medicine by comprehensively reviewing the specific topics listed in the American Board of Preventive Medicine Study Guide and Examination Content Outline for the General Preventive Medicine/Public Health specialty exam. H elping attendees identify topics within Epidemiology, Clinical Preventive Medicine, Environmental Medicine, and Health Services Administration for which they may need additional preparation. F amiliarizing attendees with the processes of MOC Part IV required for recertification in Public Health/General Preventive Medicine. Who should attend? The course is designed for Preventive Medicine diplomates who are board-certified in Public Health/General Preventive Medicine and diplomates board-certified in Occupational Medicine and/ or Aerospace Medicine who are considering certification in Public Health/General Preventive Medicine. Continuing Medical Education ACPM is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide CME for physicians. ACPM designates this educational activity for a maximum of 16.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The Review Course has also been approved for credit toward Maintenance of Certification (MOC) by the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
