The first day will be on November 28 at the Vigil Mass for the First Sunday of Advent. All gifts should be returned by December 13. The gifts will be delivered the week of December 21. OPLATKI Our annual tradition of selling Oplatki during the Christmas season will start at the beginning of Advent in November. Each package of Oplatki will be on sale for $3. Please check the weekly church bulletin for further information. HELPING THOSE IN NEED Saint Stan s Parish is asking for monetary donations or ShopRite gift cards in any amount for anonymous parishioners in need during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. If you wish to donate, please mark an envelope to the attention of Connie Modzelewski, Saint Stan s Church. Checks should be made payable to Saint Stan s Church. CELEBRATING HALLOWEEN The Halloween Parade will be held on October 30 at 12:30 p.m. outside of our school. 8 th GRADE RING CEREMONY The annual 8th Grade Ring Ceremony will be held during First Friday Mass, which will occur on December 4 at 9 a.m. ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION OPENING MASS The opening Mass for the new AA season will be held on October 18 at 9 a.m. The breakfast reception will be held after Mass in the school cafeteria and everyone is invited to attend. PEP RALLY The AA Pep Rally, which will formally begin the new season, will be held on October 30 at 7 p.m. in the school gym. Everyone is encouraged to come and support the Saint Stan s Falcons basketball team. BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTS The AA basketball tournaments will be held on November 7, 14, and 21. HOLY NAME SOCIETY MONTHLY ATLANTIC CITY TRIP The HNS sponsors a bus trip to Atlantic City on the first Thursday of each month. The bus leaves from the Saint Stan s parking lot at 11 a.m. To reserve and confirm your seat, please call Roman at 732-254-5352. (See calendar for dates) HNS CORPORATE MASSES The HNS meets on the second Sunday of every month to pray the Rosary at 8:30 a.m. and then attend 9:00 a.m. Corporate Mass. After Mass, everyone is invited to breakfast at our school cafeteria. (See calendar for dates) MONTHLY MEETINGS Monthly meetings begin at 7 p.m. in our church basement meeting room. Refreshments are provided. 5 All members are invited to attend our annual Christmas party, which will occur on December 14, featuring a delicious buffet and an assortment of beverages. ROSARIAN-OF-THE-YEAR BREAKFAST We are in need of HNS members to help serve breakfast to those attending the RAS 34th Annual Communion Breakfast, which will follow 9 a.m. Mass on October 4. We would like to congratulate Rose Lombardi, the 2015 Rosarian-of-the-Year. COUNTY FEDERATION MEETING In November, the Middlesex County Federation meeting and Diocesan Union Memorial Mass will be on November 12 at 7 p.m. at Most Holy Rosary Church, located at 625 North Florida Grove Road in Hopelawn. FORTY HOURS DEVOTION Forty Hours Devotion starts after the Noon Mass on November 15. HNS members are encouraged to participate in these devotions, attend our Holy Hour at 6 p.m. on November 17, and remain for Evening Prayer and Procession. THE GIVING TREE All parishioners and HNS members are invited to take an ornament and purchase a gift for our HNS-sponsored annual Christmas Giving Tree. CALENDAR RAFFLE The raffle drawings will continue each Thursday until December 17. NEW YEAR S DAY 50/50 RAFFLE Although we took a break last year for our parish s 100 th Year Celebration, this year we welcome all parishioners back to the New Year s Day 50/50 Raffle. See the church bulletin for further details on this annual tradition.

THANK YOU In the months passed, we have been truly blessed by the generosity of our HNS members and parishioners. We would like to thank all who have donated their time and efforts to ensure our events, including our Atlantic City bus trips, Thursday night BINGOs and Monthly Corporate Sunday breakfasts have been a great success! HOME SCHOOL ASSOCIATION SHOPAROO FUNDRAISER The HSA is continuing its participation in the Shoparoo fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who has helped us over the course of this past year. We were able to raise $384.50 just for snapping and uploading receipts. As a reminder, receipts can be from any grocery store, supercenter, club store, dollar store, drugstore, beauty/health convenience mart, pet store, toy store, or liquor store. For non-grocery receipts, we also earn entries into Shoparoo s monthly and end-of-school-year sweepstakes. If you would like to help us, you can join our group by downloading the application on your smartphone, ipad, or Google Play for Android devices. You can also participate by donating your receipts in the Shoparoo boxes located by the church exits or in the church lobby. The receipts must be within 14 days of purchase and you can cross out any identifying information on the receipt. You can also log onto www.shoparoo.com for more information. We currently have about 80 supporters snapping away. We hope you will join us. KID STUFF COUPON BOOKS The HSA is selling Kid Stuff Coupon books. The cost is $25 for each book. The books contain hundreds of valuable coupons for shopping, activities, and food. If you are interested in purchasing a book, please ask a school parent or contact Lori Wistuba at 908-812-1926. YANKEE CANDLE FUNDRAISER The HSA is selling Yankee Candles as one of our catalog fundraisers. The catalog has Autumn and Christmas scented candles and a variety of candle accessories. Orders will be delivered in time for the holidays. If you are interested in getting a catalog or making a purchase, please contact Bernadette Donato at 732-771-6171 or Carolyn Bera at 732-406-3459. You can also visit www.yankeecandlefundraising.com and make a purchase by entering our fundraiser Group number 99907442 in the Start Shopping box. The online sale will continue throughout the school year. Yankee Candles make excellent gifts for any occasion. SAINT STAN S MOVIE NIGHT The HSA is hosting a Movie Night on Friday, October 2 at 7 p.m. (Rain date is October 3). The featured movie will be Ghostbusters. We invite all Saint Stan s students, CCD students, parishioners and their families to come out to enjoy a fun time. Tickets purchased in advance are $3 per person, which includes admission and a Philadelphia-Style Pretzel. Tickets will be $4 per person on the night of the event. There will be a concession stand with popcorn, candy, cookies and drinks to help raise funds for 8th Grade Project Graduation. Tickets are available at the school and before and after Mass in the church lobby. Please remember to bring chairs and blankets. All students must be accompanied by an adult. COACH BINGO AND TRICKY TRAY The HSA is sponsoring our 3 rd Annual Coach Bingo Fundraiser on October 16 in the school gym. The doors open at 5:30 pm. and calling begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission for the Bingo is $30 per person and includes 12 games (each person gets 3 cards per game), coffee, tea and dessert. Attendees are welcome to bring their own food and refreshments. The kitchen is also serving a late-night appetizer menu for purchase, which includes mozzarella sticks, classic wings, chicken quesadillas, chili cheese fries and onion rings. This event also features a 50/50 raffle and various Tricky Tray raffles. Tickets can be purchased in the parish office or by contacting Gina Rispoli at 732-432-8361. You must be 18 years of age or older to enter and participate. SUPER SUNDAY CALENDAR RAFFLE Starting in November, the HSA will sell calendar raffle tickets. Each calendar raffle costs $20 and can be purchased in the parish office and before and after Masses in the Church lobby. A winner will be picked every Sunday between January and June 2016. Each winner will receive a prize of $100. Thank you for your support. GERTRUDE HAWK CANDY FUNDRAISER The HSA is selling delicious Gertrude Hawk Candy. The sale begins in November and candy will arrive in time for the Christmas Holiday. Gertrude Hawk has chocolate gifts and treats for every occasion. SAINT STAN S CHRISTMAS BAZAAR The HSA is having our annual Christmas Bazaar on December 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The bazaar features a tricky tray, small/large raffles, wheels of chance, class baskets, children s games, a 50/50, and photos with Santa Claus. The kitchen will have a variety of homecooked foods for purchase. If you are interested in joining the Christmas Bazaar Planning Committee, we are having our first meeting on October 26 at 7 p.m. in the church basement. All parishioners are welcome. WINE AND BEER TASTING EVENT On December 12, the HSA and 8 th Grade Project Graduation parents will be sponsoring a wine and beer tasting event. Take a break from Christmas shopping or relieve your holiday stress. Further details will follow. DONATIONS NEEDED Donations are needed to help make our Coach Bingo and Christmas Bazaar Tricky Trays a success. We are looking for new items such as picture frames, candles, holiday decorations, toys, books, and kitchen items to complete our raffle baskets. If you have new items you would like to donate, please drop them off in the school office or church lobby with a label that reads Tricky Tray. You may also help by sponsoring a Coach or Designer handbag for the October 16 Coach Bingo Fundraiser. You can sponsor as a family donation or in memory of a loved one. It is also a great form of advertisement for area businesses. If you are interested in sponsoring a Coach bag, please contact Gina Rispoli at 732-432-8361. THANK YOU All of our fundraising efforts benefit our students and our school. During the school year, the HSA sponsors and helps with many events, such as holiday breakfasts and lunches, holiday parties, Catholic School Week events, class trips, and the field day event. As always, we thank you and appreciate your continued support. ROSARY-ALTAR SOCIETY ROSARIAN-OF-THE-YEAR BREAKFAST Rose Lombardi, our 2015 Rosarian-of-the-Year, will be honored at our breakfast, scheduled for October 4 after 9 a.m. Mass. Members of the HNS will serve breakfast. The price of a ticket is $8 for each adult and $4 for each child. There are special door prizes and a 50/50 raffle. All RAS members, parishioners, and friends are invited. LIVING ROSARY This annual event will occur on October 21 at 7 p.m. All local Rosarian groups, members, parishioners and friends are invited to commemorate October, the Month of the Rosary. There will be refreshments in the school cafeteria after the Living Rosary. GRAVE BLANKET AND WREATH SALE Order forms for grave covers and wreaths will be available in both the main and elevator lobbies of the church and the church office beginning the third week of October. We are taking orders for grave blankets and wreaths on the weekends of November 14 & 15 and November 21 & 22 in the church. Samples of grave covers and wreaths will be available. Your payment should be made at the time of your order. The deadline for orders is November 29. The delivery of the grave blankets and wreaths will be on December 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. PIEROGI SALE Please check the weekly church bulletin in November and December for information. Order forms will be available in the main and elevator lobbies of the church. ROSARY AND MASS On the first Sunday of each month, we pray the Rosary and attend Mass at 9 a.m. There will be no meeting following the Mass in December. Instead, RAS members, parishioners, and friends are encouraged to attend the HSA annual Christmas Bazaar, which starts at 11 a.m. CHRISTMAS PARTY The annual RAS party is scheduled for January 3, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Washington Road in Parlin. Further details will follow. PRAYER GROUP Our prayer group meets at 7:00 p.m. in our Church Chapel. Due to 40 Hours Devotion in November, there will not be a prayer group on November 17.
