ACT Prep instruction is customized using the VARK learning style assessments. The VARK and diagnostic assessments will be given 4:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. March 26. This course assists students in refreshing their knowledge and achieving higher ACT scores. The continuing education nursing activity is approved by the Arkansas Nursing Association and accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on Accreditation. The training provides 10.9 continuing education hours. Class meets Saturday and Sunday, March 9 and 10, 8:00 a.m. 2:30 p.m. Cost $1000 Certified Fiber Optics Technician (CFOT) is an introductory three-day fiber optics course. This program combines theory and 75% hands-on activities to prepare the student to take the CFOT exam. The closed book exam is sanctioned by the Fiber Optics Association

(FOA). It is given and graded the final class day. Student learns how to identify fiber types, recognize various connectors used in fiber installation; and install, terminate, splice, and properly test installed multimode/singlemode fiber cable to existing standards. Class meets March 11 13, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Cost $700. Certified Fiber Optics Specialist in Testing & Maintenance (CFOS/T) is a two-day program designed to prepare the student to take the Specialist in Testing & Maintenance Fiber Optics Certification exam given at the end of class. Student learns to effectively and efficiently identify fiber network defects and provide Quality Assurance (QA) procedures to minimize or eliminate future network outages. Class meets March 14 15, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Cost $675. Certified Fiber Optics Splicing Specialist Course (CFOS/S) is a two-day program which includes high performance splicing and further details the points necessary to achieve these splices. 75% hands-on classroom activities will provide training in both fusion and mechanical splicing of both single and multimode fiber optic cables. Program prepares the student to take the FOA s CFOS/S exam that is administered and graded the final day of class. Class meets March 16 17, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Cost $675. April 2013: Laptops, ipads, and Tablets class discusses how to buy, what to look for, and what to ask along with Features, Apps, General Settings, and Browsing the Internet. Class meets Friday, April 5, 9:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. Cost $12 ereaders class discusses what to know when buying an ereader comparing features, advantages, and ease of use. Class meets Friday, April 12, 9:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. Cost $12 Digital Cameras/Smartphone Photography easily allows moments to be captured. Learn the basics of taking pictures, saving and sharing photos, and using free online software for organizing, editing, and printing your photos.
