Renewable Energy Incentive Program (REIP) 2010 Application and Payment Process Tammy Gray Senior Operations Specialist

Rebate Application Process

Rebate Application Process REIP Program and SREC Registration Program REIP offers incentives and access to the REC market for New Jersey customers investing in eligible renewable energy technologies (Wind, Biomass, Solar Photovoltaic). The REIP market development tools focus on the on-site, behindthe-meter, renewable energy market. SRP offers access to the REC market for larger projects that are not eligible for rebates

Rebate Application Process REIP Participation Who is eligible for the REIP Program? New Jersey applicants who contribute to the Societal Benefits Charge (SBC), a small payment made through your utility bill. Systems cannot be sized to produce more than 100% of historical or expected electric consumption at the site of installation. System must be installed in New Jersey. All new construction projects must be in a Smart Growth region. Installers must attend mandatory program training. Each Application based on meter

Rebate Application Process Initial Application Initial Application As Built Checklist Final Paperwork NJ Cert. No. Rebate Check What are the requirements? If paperwork submitted is incomplete, what are the next steps, including timeframes? If paperwork submitted is complete, what are the next steps, including timeframes? Who should I contact once I have waited the appropriate timeframe?

Initial Application Application Checklist What determines whether an application is complete? Completed REIP Rebate Application Completed REIP Technical Worksheet Site Map Information on last 12 months electric usage Recent electric bill with yearly usage Copies of all 12 months bills List of Loads: Residential Consumption Calculator signed by customer and contractor PE signed and sealed for non-residential Signatures, Federal Tax IDs, and phone numbers Warranty information Signed 10 year certification Copy of signed contract PVWATTS production estimates for designed and ideal (Version 1)

Initial Application Common Mistakes Not using the correct application forms Missing signatures System estimated production is greater than consumption Electric bills are not included or do not show 12 months of consumption Residential consumption calculator is not filled out correctly or the size of the home or business does not justify the calculation If the residential consumption calculator is used to show an increase in consumption, you must supply an explanation for the addition and a copy of the existing bills. This does not include upgrades or additional appliances/products Missing items from Application Checklist Site maps need more detail Documents must be mailed or hand delivered - faxes and emails are not accepted Incomplete applications will be returned to the customer without exception and resubmitted applications will be based on the new date received

Initial Application

Initial Application Applicant Name: Installation Address: Current Electric Utility Account Number: Installer Contact Name and Telephone Number:

Initial Application Timeframes Completed rebated applications take 5 7 weeks to approve depending on application volume. Completed Non-rebated applications take 4 weeks to approve. We do not encourage projects to begin installation until the approval letter is received. Local inspections cannot be done prior to date of approval letter. NOTE: Approval letters are not an approval of the project as submitted. The approval letter is an authorization to commence work and a commitment that funds have been reserved. All projects must meet program guidelines in order to receive rebate payment despite a commitment letter. Questions on Applications: Theresa Heller theresa.heller@csgrp.com
