Conifer Weekly Announcements Hello Conifer Family and Friends, this is Principal Paxton with your weekly update on news and information for the week of Monday, April 9 th through Saturday, April 14 th. Here are some special announcements for this week This is Prom week and we have Spirit Days to get everyone ready! o Monday: Meme Monday o Tuesday: PJ Day o Wednesday: College Day o Thursday: Tie Dye Thursday o Friday: Crazy Prom Attire Dress Appropriately On Monday, April 9 th, we will host the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony in the cafetorium from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. On Tuesday, April 10 th, all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be participating in this year s State PSAT and SAT testing. Students should bring two-#2 pencils (mechanical pencils are not allowed) and a calculator. It is imperative that all students be at school by 7:25 a.m. Testing rooms will be posted outside the counseling office. Cell phones should be left in a student s locker, car, or at home. The use of a cell phone during testing will result in the student s test scores being cancelled.
As a reminder, 9 th and 10 th grade students will take the PSAT exam and 11 th grade students will take the SAT exam. Students are reminded to get a good night s rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive at school by 7:25 a.m. with two pencils and their calculator. Also on Tuesday, April 10 th, the senior parents host this year s Senior Breakfast starting at 8:00 a.m. The breakfast includes announcements about end of the year expectations, graduation, and other senior events. Following the breakfast, representatives of Colorado State University will host several sessions to prepare students for going to college, entering the military, and preparing for a career. As you can see, this will be a full-day for seniors. On Tuesday, April 10 th, we will have the following testing schedule: 7:25 12:00 PSAT/SAT Testing 12:00 1:00 Lunch 1:00 2:35 Period 3 On Tuesday, April 10 th at 6:30 p.m., our Conifer PTSA will hold their monthly meeting at Carreta Vieja Restaurant. They are currently accepting nominations for officer positions for the 2018-2019 school year. They will also be discussing After-Prom, Teacher Appreciation, and Graduation.
On Thursday, April 12 th, our Student Government will host a Prom Pep- Assembly to recognize spring sports and Prom royalty. Due to the pepassembly, we will have the following bell schedule: Thursday April 12, 2018 (Late Start Green Day) Seminar 8:00 8:45 (45 min) Period 3 8:50 10:10 (80 min) Period 5 10:15 11:35 (80 min) Lunch 11:40-12:30 (50 min) Period 7 12:35 1:55 (80 min) Assembly 2:00 2:35 (35 min) On Friday, April 13 th, we host Prom 2018 at Mile High Station in Denver. Prom tickets can be purchased online at JeffcoConnect for $80 per person or $140 per couple. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $90. Guest pass forms are available in the main office for non-conifer students. This year s After-Prom will be hosted at Brooks Place in Conifer from 11:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. After-Prom is a free event that is open to all Conifer juniors, seniors, and their dates. Appetizers and desserts will be provided along with yard games, board games, music, and movies will be available. The dinner will be held at Our Lady of the Pines Church on Saturday,
April 14 at 6:00 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6-12 and $30 for families (2 adults and unlimited kids under 12). Ages 5 and younger are free. In Sports Monday, April 9 th Girls Lacrosse will host Summit High school at 5:30 p.m. Boys Lacrosse will host Ralston Valley High School at Trailblazer Stadium starting at 5:30 p.m. for the Game of the Week! Tuesday, April 10 th Girls Tennis will host Alameda High School at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 th Baseball will host Alameda High School with the first pitch at 4:00 p.m. Thursday April 12 th Girls Golf will play in a tournament at Indian Tree Golf Course starting at 9:00 a.m.
