Maple Lake St. Patrick s Day Parade!! E T DA UP The sound barrier wall was successfully installed between the Club and Event Hall. If you haven t seen it yet, stop on by and take a look. It brightens up the space and looks very nice. It also does a great job deadening the sound from the Club when private events are taking place. Thank you to Grindstone Construction and their crew for doing an amazing job! Buffalo American Legion s Memorial Day Keynote Speaker Tom Newman Tom Newman enlisted in the US Army in July of 1967 and served until July of 1970. Tom spent 1968 in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division as an infantry paratrooper. 1968 was the bloodiest year of the war and Tom's company suffered 97 percent casualties and fatalities. There were 26 times, that Tom is aware of, that he should have been killed or at least severely wounded. There was also one time when Tom actually did die and was resuscitated but not before his spirit and soul left his body and he was later able to recount efforts by the medical team to revive him. Tom came back from Vietnam with many questions about life, death, faith, alternate realities and the nature of God. Tom Newman has written three books: Just War: A Soldiers Revelation; A Brief History of the Bible; Things to Come: A Brief History of the Bible We hope that you will join us on Monday, May 27 at 8:30am for our annual parade, music by BHS Marching Band; keynote speaker, Tom Newman; Roll Call of deceased veterans and placement of memorial wreath. Please join us afterward for a light lunch in our event hall. MILITARY FAMILY ASSISTANCE CENTER There is a Family Assistance Specialist located at the Cambridge Armory.
