EXECUTIVE BRIEF Motion to approve the contracts and claims settlements list as submitted by various departments to the Clerk & Comptroller's Office, cumulatively totaling $ 626,500. The appropriate County staff has executed each contract for the attached lists and each contract will be effective upon Board approval unless a later effective date is referenced in the contract. Background and Justification: The Palm Beach County Purchasing Ordinance and R-94-702 delegates certain contract execution to appropriate county staff, however, these contracts require Board approval before becoming effective. EXHIBIT B Odums Sod, Inc.; Mullings Engineering ' Services, LLC Increase of term contract amount for the purchase and installation of sod for the period 02/01/2012 through 01/31/2014 per Master Agreement #12014. Increased Amount $ 175,000.00 Total with Increase: $535,000.00 SBE: Amount dependent upon usage County-Wide Scarlett The County has encumbered $113,104 ($28,276/month) during the previous four (4) months of the current twenty-four (24) month term contract. Due to an increase of rehab construction, renovations, and landscape modifications at various water treatment plants, lift stations and the Southern Region Reclamation Facility, Water Utilities is requesting an increase of $175,000 over the previously authorized amount of $360,000 (24 months). The increased contract amount requested is a result of the need for sod installation that has exceeded their estimated expenditures for the year. This term contract has three (3) additional renewal periods. Awardees are located in Palm Beach County.

Palm Tran has requested a four (4) month extension to the contract to allow time to award a new contract through the RFP process. Palm Tran anticipates generating $45,500 in revenue during this four (4) month extension term based upon payment to the County of $65 per advertising shelter per month for approximately 175 shelters. In accordance with the contract, Palm Tran is required to pay $145,976 to the Contractor for the unamortized cost of shelters installed during the last five (5) years of this current ten (10) year term contract. This term contract has no renewal options remaining. Awardee is located out of State. Because of Federal funding, this project must adhere to the Federal DBE program rather than the County's SBE program. TOTAL AMOUNT OF ALL AWARDS $605,500.00
