Programs Programs Helping Hands Description Long-Term Success Examples of Long-Term Success Target Population 1 Target Population 2 Collier Harvest uses surplus food from food drives and daily retail collections to feed our hungry neighbors. These food drives include the annual National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger food drive. We then deliver the collected food to our partner agencies for distribution. Our goal is to develop long term programs that make a difference in daily food shortage to the less fortunate. Collier Harvest knows it's making a difference when we are able to fulfill our agencies specific needs. Families Poor,Economically Disadvantaged,Indigent Food Fast Description Long-Term Success Examples of Long-Term Success Target Population 1 Target Population 2 Collier Harvest collects monetary donations so we can provide our partner agencies with specific food requested on an immediate basis. These donations help us provide exactly what an agency needs to fill its shelves. Collier Harvest receives continual funding so these special requests can be met year to year. This program has provided fresh fruits, vegetables and meat to agencies such as Youth Haven, Providence House and Sunlight Homes. Families Poor,Economically Disadvantaged,Indigent 3

Impact Goals What are your organization's long-term strategic goals? The target population of Collier Harvest are the hungry in our community. The people we service are children, families, people with disabilities, seniors, the unemployed, or anyone with an empty stomach. Donations to Collier Harvest help us provide specific food needs to the agencies we serve. By collecting food and monetary donations, we are able to help feed our hungry neighbors. Strategies What are the major strategies you will do to accomplish your goals? Collier Harvest achieves its goal of feeding our neighbors through community outreach. Our outreach allows businesses, schools, churches and civic organizations to assist in food drives and fundraising. We also reach out to our community for volunteers. Volunteers are the heart and soul of Collier Harvest and work on a daily basis to deliver surplus food to agencies in need. With monetary donations Collier Harvest is able to purchase specific food for our agencies. We never charge our partner agencies for the food we provide. Capabilities What are your organization s capabilities for doing this? Collier Harvest provides for hungry neighbors using our donations as wisely as possible. With only 3 paid parttime employees, we keep our administrative costs low so more funds go directly towards feeding our neighbors. Our volunteers donate their time and resources to pick up and deliver surplus food on a daily basis. Indicators What indicators do you use to measure progress? When our partner agencies have full shelves and children do not go to bed hungry, we know we are succeeding! We can see our successes through the increase of local food drives. We see our success through an increase of volunteers which in turn allows us to reach more grocery stores, specialty stores and restaurants. We also see our successes through the increase in monetary donations. With every dollar we receive, we are able to purchase more food to help those in need. Progress What have and haven t you accomplished so far? Since 1992 we have collected over 19 million pounds of food. We help to serve more than 1,000 people daily. We have over 100 volunteers that are the heart of our organization. Our volunteers work approximately 175 hours per week. This works out to almost 8,500 hours of service annually. This allows us to use more of our monetary donations to feed the hungry and buy food specific needs for the agencies we serve.because Naples is known for its wealth, beaches and sunshine, Collier Harvest is continually exploring ways to educate the community about the unrecognized needs in our area. Food insecurity will always be with us, so our mission is never-ending. When we work with and educate the youth, we ensure that those in need will be fed by our next generation. 4
