Resume including extra-curricular activities, organizations, publications, school groups and work history. 4. Essay. Check each scholarship s requirements. If a specific topic is not listed - In an essay not to exceed 1 page, unless specified otherwise, write about an event or person that has influenced your life in some way. 5. Available Scholarships The Alyssa Little Foundation Scholarship $2,500.00 The Alyssa Little Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of Alyssa Ann Little who tragically passed away in 2011. Alyssa graduated from J J Pearce High School and was known for her quick wit, humor and outgoing personality. In her honor, this scholarship will be awarded to one (1) J J Pearce High School Senior based on the following criteria: Student must attend a 4-year accredited state college or university full-time Award based on a combination of financial need, academic performance, and personal character The Balfour-Cheek Family Principal s Scholarship $1,000.00 The purpose of this Balfour-Cheek Family Principal s Scholarship is to honor a graduating senior of L V Berkner High School whose goal is to attend a 2- or 4-year accredited college or university of his/her choice or a vocational school. Recognizing the value of athletic activities in promoting academic success, the recipient must have participated in a minimum of two (2) extracurricular activities with one being an athletic activity of his/her choice for a duration of one year. Student must attend a full-time 2-year accredited community college, a 4-year accredited college, university, or vocational school Minimum of two (2) extra-curricular activities, one being athletic for at least one year Award based on a combination of financial need, academic performance, and personal character, must include involvement in community service. Scholarship is not renewable

The Giana Foundation Scholarship Fund for the Visual & Performing Arts $5,000.00 A scholarship fund established to honor graduating seniors whose stated goal is to study visual and/or performing arts. The scholarship is intended to show appreciation of the J J Pearce and Richardson High School arts programs since members of the Foundation themselves benefited from participation in those programs. Two (2) scholarships awarded to each of two (2) J J Pearce graduating seniors and two (2) Richardson High School graduating seniors who are planning to major in the visual and/or performing arts. Must major in an area of Visual & Performing Arts Student must attend a 4-year university or college Scholarship is not renewable The Anderson Bonner Endowment Scholarship Fund $3,000.00 Honoring Anderson Bonner, former slave, entrepreneur and North Dallas landowner. Mr. Bonner amassed nearly 2,000 acres of land in the Richardson School District by selling the produce he and his family raised on their farms. Mr. Bonner greatly valued education. Two (2) scholarships of $3,000 each will be awarded to students from any of the four RISD high schools selected from those who meet Minimum GPA of 2.75 Must attend Prairie View A&M University full-time with a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester Scholarship is not renewable A.M. Anderson Scholarship $500.00 This scholarship was established to honor Mr. A.M. Anderson, the first principal of Lake Highland High School. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating Lake Highlands High School student who meets the following criteria: Senior who is a member in good standing of the A.M Anderson Chapter of the National Honor Society of Lake Highlands on the topic How have you been impacted by your time in the A.M. Anderson Chapter of the National Honor Society? required Dr. Carolyn G. Bukhair AVID Scholarship $1,000.00 Honoring former RISD Superintendent, Dr. Carolyn Bukhair, who was instrumental in bringing the AVID Program to RISD, this scholarship is awarded to six (6) outstanding AVID seniors from any of the four RISD high schools who meet the requirements below:

Eagle to Eagle Scholarship $2,000.00 This scholarship awards $2,000 each to two (2) outstanding Richardson High School Seniors who previously attended Spring Creek Elementary School. The scholarship recipients will be selected from students who meet the following criteria: Student must attend a 4-year accredited college, university or vocational school full time Award will be based on a combination of financial need, academic performance and community/giving back G-Squared Richardson High School Math Challenge Scholarship $500.00 per semester Up to five Scholarships awarded providing $500 per semester ($2,000 total for each scholarship) applicable toward each students first two years of college. All members of RHS Class of 2019 who meet the following criteria are eligible: Students must have taken four years of high school math, passing with B s or better and having passed all standardized tests Class ranking in the top 45% Two (2) written recommendations from among the student s math teachers, counselors and extra-curricular activity instructors 40 hours of community service (includes RHS and Interact) between combined junior and senior years For scholarship renewal student must maintain 2.75 average in all college courses and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours per semester Demonstrated financial need and based on family income, number of family attending college simultaneously, and the good faith judgement of the Scholarship committee Applicants must complete all submittal material and be available for a personal interview by the scholarship committee Students must attend an accredited two or four year college or university Students must have no illegal substance abuse, alcohol abuse or disciplinary problems determined by a good faith effort of the Scholarship Committee Katie Richards Memorial Scholarship $1,500.00 The Katie Richards Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Katharine Wiley Richards. Katharine, a Parkhill Junior High student, died of congenital heart disease in 1995. She was a creative, sweet and wonderful daughter, sister and friend. In honor of Katie, two (2) scholarships for $1,500 will be awarded to graduating J J Pearce High School seniors who meet the following criteria: Minimum GPA of 90 Student must attend a four-year university or college Award will be based on a combination of personal character, academic performance and financial need

The Kathy Tran Scholarship Fund for the Creative Arts $1,000.00 Three (3) $1,000 scholarships are provided by Kathy Tran, a graduate of RISD to encourage seniors to further their studies in the creative arts. Minimum GPA of 2.50 Stated goal is the study of the creative arts Must attend a two or four year accredited college Award based on financial need, academic performance and personal character Send Instagram handles or websites to portfolios for review Scholarship is not renewable The Janet Bliss Mello Memorial Scholarship $1,000.00 Janet Bliss Mello was with the RISD for 24 years. She taught at Yale and Hamilton Park Elementary Schools and in the Talented and Gifted Program. Her calling in life was education and she worked tirelessly and passionately to improve learning for children. This scholarship is intended to enable a student who qualifies to attend a four year college or university to pursue a degree and career in education. Minimum GPA of 3.0 Must attend a four-year accredited college or university with the intended purpose of becoming a teacher Essay Required Award is based on a combination of financial need, academic performance and personal character Scholarship is not renewable The Reginald Jon Gordon Heber Texas A&M System Scholarship $2,000.00 This scholarship was created in honor of Jon Heber, by his family. Jon attended Texas A&M University and never lost his love for the school and its traditions. During and after a long career with IBM, Jon became an avid volunteer, most particularly with children s educational causes. This scholarship is designed to enable two (2) students to pursue an education at one of the Texas A&M system campuses. The two (2), $2,000 scholarships, will be awarded to students who have graduated from any of the four RISD high schools who best meet the following criteria: Minimum GPA of 2.75 Award based on a combination of financial need, academic performance, personal character and community service Essay required Student must attend one of the Texas A&M system schools Scholarship may be renewable

The Justin Aaron Davis Memorial Scholarship for the Culinary Arts $1,000.00 The Justin Aaron Davis scholarship for the Culinary Arts was established in honor of Justin s love for cooking. It was created to reach seniors graduating from any of the four RISD high schools who have a love for cooking and wish to pursue an education in the culinary arts. This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one (1) graduating senior who meets the following criteria: Minimum GPA of 2.50 Award based on a combination of financial need and personal character Essay required describing your interest in culinary arts and your goals Student must be pursuing a culinary associates degree or culinary arts as a major Scholarship is non-renewable Fujitsu STEM Scholarship One $4,500, One $3,500, One $2,500 Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc (Fujitsu) will be providing three (3) different one-time scholarship awards in the amounts listed above to outstanding RISD students who are focused on continuing their education in a Science Technology Engineering or Math (STEM) field. All graduating seniors from any of the four RISD high schools who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply: Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 Students must have taken four years in any combination of Science, technology, engineering and/or math classes passing with a grade of B or higher Students must be entering a two or four year college or university to major in a STEM field Students must submit an essay describing their decision to choose a STEM field as their major and specify their major STEM field of study in the essay Student must submit two written recommendations from either their STEM teachers, counselors, extracurricular instructors/coaches, or mentors Fujitsu will choose recipients of the scholarship awards based on a combination of factors such as financial needs, academic performance, essay submissions, recommendations, and personal character The Kay Savay Scholarship $500.00 Richardson Art Teacher Society established this scholarship in honor of former RISD Art Coordinator and art teacher Kay Savay. One (1) scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from any of the four RISD high schools whose stated goal is to study the visual arts. Students will be selected from those who meet the following criteria: Minimum GPA of 2.5 Students must major in an area of Visual Arts Students must attend a two or four year accredited college Scholarship is not renewable Turn in a flash drive of their portfolio to their art teacher to be sent to the committee for review Essay required

The Fujitsu Network Communications MPA Scholarship $1,000.00 The Fujitsu Network Communications Scholarship was developed to honor and reward students who have overcome significant challenges to graduate. These two (2) $1,000 scholarships will enable students graduating from any of the four RISD High Schools to continue their education in a two or four year college or vocational school. Scholarship applicants who meet the following criteria are invited to apply: Minimum GPA of 2.25 Award will be based on a combination of financial need, academic performance and personal character Students must have attended classes in the MPA Program Must be pursuing a technical degree/certificate, associates or bachelor degree Essay required Scholarship is non-renewable Essay topics: What life experiences have shaped who you are today and what challenges you have overcome to achieve your graduation? Describe your academic and career goals and your plans to achieve them. Describe any of your outside activities such as work, church involvement and volunteer activities. Applications are being submitted electronically via Google Form. Applicants can find the application form at https://goo.gl/zzhyhf.
