Women s Health Care Update March 26-27, 2015 WHO SHOULD ATTEND Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and allied healthcare providers who provide primary health care for women COURSE DESCRIPTION This conference is an annual update for women s health care providers on current topics relevant to women s health. The topics are selected from suggestions from previous course attendees, areas with substantial change, and controversial subjects where medical opinions may differ. The purpose is to provide a clinical update for providers who care for women in an outpatient setting. The format is a series of short lectures followed by question and answer sessions. ACCREDITATION Accreditation with Commendation The University of Washington School of is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Credit Designation The University of Washington School of designates this live activity for a maximum of 15.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This Live activity, Women s Health Care Update, with a beginning date of 03/26/2015, has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 15.00 Prescribed credit(s) by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. COURSE OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this activity, attendees should be able to: Manage common urologic issues in women Manage basic vulvovaginal complaints and identify and refer complex vulvovaginal disorders Apply and interpret HPV testing as part of an effective strategy for cervical cancer prevention Manage chronic pain syndromes in women without narcotic pain medication Be familiar with the most pertinent published articles in the field of Women s Health for 2014 Diagnose and manage osteoporosis, and common menopausal symptoms Provide pre-conception care and anticipatory guidance regarding medication use in pregnancy Manage common contraceptive problems Diagnose and evaluate recurrent pregnancy loss Evaluate and manage knee problems in women Apply new ACOG nomenclature regarding abnormal uterine bleeding Evaluate and manage common female sexual disorders FEES AND REGISTRATION MD/DO/PhD $395.00 The fee for this course includes catering, all instruction materials and transcript of AMA Allied Health $345.00 PRA Category 1 Credits. CONFERENCE SYLLABUS IS GOING GREEN Syllabus materials will be available for download at uwcme.org (for conference registrants only). The password for the download website will be sent with your registration confirmation email. Materials will be available from March 20 - April 27, 2015, for registrants to print and/or download. A booklet with the conference agenda and pages for note-taking will be provided at the conference. ATTENDANCE POLICY Course activities are exclusively reserved for course attendees. Badges provided at registration are required for entrance into all functions and will be strictly enforced. UWCME takes into consideration diverse nutritional preferences and restrictions when planning our complimentary menu. However, those individuals who might find that our menu is not completely aligned to their specific nutritional needs are welcome to bring their own food items. CHILDCARE POLICY In consideration of other participants and speakers, please do not bring infants/children into conference sessions. CANCELLATION POLICY The Office of Continuing Medical Education must receive written notification of your cancellation by March 16, 2015. A $50.00 processing fee will be deducted from refund requests received by this date. No refunds will be issued following March 16, 2015. The Office of Continuing Medical Education reserves the right to cancel this course twenty (20) days prior to the course date when a minimum enrollment is not met or for other reasons that prevent the University from holding the course. Each registrant will be notified by telephone followed by written notification and a full refund.
