CELEBRATING NATIONAL NURSES WEEK Celebrating the Heart of Health Care Nursing is a demanding profession with more skills and challenges than ever before. Nursing professionals do far more than most people imagine and their impact is enormous. Join The Southern Illinoisan in honoring & celebrating nurses throughout the area with our Nurses: The Heart of Health Care Nomination, Ballot, Special Section, and Awards Event. Anyone can nominate a nurse who has made a difference in their life or the life of a loved one during 2018. After collecting nominations, an independent panel of judges will choose 9 extraordinary nursing professionals to represent thousands of their colleagues at our inaugural Nursing Awards event. Additionally, there will be one people s choice winner. In celebration of National Nurses Week (May 6 May 12), on May 12, 2019, The Southern Illinoisan will publish a full color, tabloid special section that will feature the stories of the 10 winning nurses.
